The grape variety Merlot is used exclusively for the production of alcoholic beverages. For use in fresh form, this product is used extremely rarely, since its peel gives a rather unpleasant tart taste with pronounced acidic tints.

Due to the large size of the berries and a small percentage of the peel in relation to the pulp, wine from such grapes is characterized by a reduced content of tannins - substances that differ in their thickening effect. Therefore, the finished product has a uniform structure, which does not match the mouth.

"Merlot" is often used to combine with other varieties of grapes in the production of wines. The use of this juice makes it possible to soften the structure of alcoholic beverages saturated with tannins.

Advantages of the variety

Among the main advantages of the grape variety is the following:

  • The possibility of producing an inexpensive wine that has a rich taste and rich aroma;
