French striker Jeremy Menez: biography

Jeremy Menez is a French striker, who can also act as a winger, both on both flanks. He spent most of his career in France. But a few years also played in the Italian Serie A. Jeremy Menez played for the French team, but not too long.

Carier start

Jeremy Menez was born on May 7, 1987 in France. At the age of seven he was in the football academy of the tiny Vitry club. A year later he moved to the capital "Pari", where he spent five whole years. In 2000, he had to go to the football academy of another French club - "Bretigny", but there he did not stay long. A year later, a fourteen-year-old boy was spotted at Sochaux, where he moved to finish his football training.

In 2005, when he turned 18, Menez received a professional contract with the team. But by that time he had been a regular base player in the adult club for a year already. He spent 32 matches, driving four goals into the opponent's goal. And the next season did not slow down - for 31 games scored three more goals. Such a talent did not go unnoticed. Already in the summer of 2006, 19-year-old Jeremy Menez for three and a half million euros was bought by representatives of the Monaco team.

Moving to "Monaco"

Jeremy Menez is a footballer who impressed with his abilities in the attack, so in Monaco he had high hopes. For the two years that he spent there, the guy went on the field 62 times, scoring 14 goals. However, at that time "Monegasque" was not the leading force of the French championship. Therefore, many applicants for the talented young attack universal appeared. The race for Menez won the Italian "Roma", paid for it 12 million euros.

Moving to Italy

In the new place, the Frenchman's affairs developed very well. He did not lose form, continuing to perform at a fairly high level. In each of the three seasons, the man consistently scored four goals, giving away a large number of assists. In total for the Roman club, Jeremy played 112 matches. This is the largest number of matches for one team in his career. But in 2011 they were interested in the strongest club from his native France - PSG. And "Roma" agreed to sell it for eight million euros. So Jeremy returned to his homeland. But, unfortunately, he made a mistake, as he could not play in the Paris club .

The game for "PSG"

In the first two seasons Menez demonstrated a brilliant game. He scored 17 goals in 84 games. In addition, the football player assisted the attackers from both flanks and was a regular base player. But in 2013 everything changed. Jeremy was left without a practice game and for a whole year with difficulty he played 26 matches, in which he scored only two goals. Menez, of course, did not like this situation. Therefore, he did not renew the contract with the Parisian club. Instead, he decided to return to Italy, where Milan was waiting for him.

A new beginning

But what could you achieve in the new club Jeremy Menez? "Milan" at that time was not in the best position, you can even say in the crisis. And the Frenchman became for the team a real rescue in the attack. At least, at first. In the first season he played in 34 games, scoring 16 goals. However, later the footballer was injured, he became less likely to get into the squad.

In addition, the man was criticized for the fact that he constantly draws the whole game, because of what he manages to score more goals, but this goes to the detriment of the team. Therefore, Jeremy did not renew the two-year contract with Milan. In the summer of 2016, he returned to France. At home, Menez signed a three-year contract with Bordeaux, for which he had already played seven games, scoring one goal and giving one assists.

National team appearances

For the French national team Menez debuted in August 2010 in a friendly against the Norwegian team. Since then, Jeremy has played 24 games in her line-up. He drove into the opponent's goal two goals and gave one assists. Together with the team he went to the European Championship in 2012 , playing there in three games out of four and scoring one goal in the gates of Ukraine. The last time Jeremy was called to the team in March 2013 for a match against Spain.
