Finds in Turkestan

Findings of ceramics are not rich: only 111 fragments and not a single whole vessel. They are entirely made of dough with the addition of sand (either large - in products of considerable size, or small - in small vessels). The shards are hard, baked at high temperature, mostly red (only 5% -sereye).

It was possible to restore only one round-bottomed vessel (a bowl), the same fragments of flat-bottomed dishes prevail. Linear, stamped (impressions of braids or baskets, round and oval points, etc.), comb, nail and some other types of simple ornament were applied mainly to the upper part of the body.

A noteworthy element that distinguishes Astana from other sites of this group is the presence of painted ceramics here: flat-bottomed pitchers with a high neck and round bottomed bowls. They engobed with a dark red color, along which a simple painting of black paint was done. Pattern patterns are difficult to reconstruct because of the small size of the fragments, however, straight lines, grids, bands, etc., are noticeable

The materials at our disposal are very scarce, so only a few final observations can be made preliminary. In East Turkestan, the compatibility of men and women was very interesting. It was believed that if the women twins marry the twin men, then their marriage will be very happy. Findings In Turkestan ...

First of all, it is obvious that the presence of microliths in these sites can not serve as a comprehensive diagnostic feature, since their exclusive presence so far occurs only in Qi Jiaojing and Yarkhu. In Mora and Astana they are only a part of the stone inventory, and in the latter they played, as it seems to us, most likely a secondary role. Therefore, in our opinion, they can serve as a starting point for establishing some preliminary order in the material, but not the basis for isolating "microlithic culture" in Xin-jiang at the present time.

It is also obvious that in this group of parking Astana is a bale apart. Already the composition of stone implements distinguishes it from its brethren, and the presence of painted ceramics distances it even more, bringing together at the same time with the monuments of the first group.
