Feeding an infant: where to start?

A newborn baby receives 100% of nutrients with her mother's milk, and it is believed that up to 6 months of crumbs do not even need water. However, a growing body every day requires more and more calories, and the moment comes when parents think about how to diversify the baby's menu. At the same time, it is important to remember: the lure of an infant should be administered with extreme caution.

Pedagogical complementary feeding

At the age of 4-6 months (depending on the development of the baby), you can begin to acquaint him with adult food. Pedagogical lure is not introduced to feed the crumbs. The main task is to prepare the digestive system for new products. According to this theory, the first lure of the child should be introduced exclusively by microdoses - small pieces of "adult" food the size of a rice grains. At the same time, you can give the baby everything that lies with the mother on the plate - meat, porridge, vegetables, cottage cheese. The main thing is that the food is not too salty, spicy or sweet. In this case, breast milk should remain the only source of nutritional intake of the child's body. After 8 months of pedagogical complementary feeding for the child can be gradually replaced by the usual.

Standard version

For most mothers, the pedagogical complementary feeding of an infant may seem too complicated. Often parents want to quickly feed the crumb with new food and forget about the rule of microdoses. As a result, the baby's stomach does not withstand the load, serious eating disorders occur. Therefore for hasty mothers it is better to stop the choice on a standard way.

Pediatricians are advised to start feeding a baby with one-component cereals, and puree and juices should be introduced in the second turn. The first portion of new food the baby should receive at the beginning of feeding - 1 teaspoonful will be enough. After this, the baby is breastfed. Every day the portion volume should increase, and after 1-2 weeks a one-day feeding is completely replaced by lactation.

Rice or buckwheat is the best cereal to start with. When the baby's body gets used to them, you can try corn and oatmeal. Together with this, it is worth starting to introduce crumbs to vegetable and fruit juices and mashed potatoes.

At the age of 8-9 in the diet of the baby you can enter meat. The easiest way is to buy ready-made canned children in the store. But for caring mothers who are not looking for simple ways, it is better to cook meat purees yourself - by twisting fresh veal in a blender. Closer to the year, fish and poultry already appear in the crumbs menu.

It is important to remember that the feeding of an infant should include only fresh and natural products. Instead of concentrated juices it is advisable to give crumbs compotes, and store purees replaced by homemade ones, prepared with the use of breast milk. In addition, each child has his or her own eating habits, so if a child is resistant to one or another food, he should not be forced to do it - eventually he will get used to "adult" food and will be more loyal to innovations.
