Efferalgan (effervescent tablets) is included in the category of analgesics-antipyretics. Active substances - ascorbic acid, paracetamol.

Paracetamol, part of Efferalgan (UPSA), can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system, thus reducing body temperature (increased) and alleviating pain. Since this component does not irritate the mucosa, the drug is allowed for use by patients with gastrointestinal disorders, an ulcer in the stomach or duodenum.

Vitamin C strengthens the body's natural defenses, accelerates recovery, improves the taste of the drug.

Efferalgan (UPSA) in the form of a hot solution for oral administration is well suited for patients experiencing difficulty in taking tablet forms, due to inflammatory processes on the oral mucosa.

The medication is prescribed to lower body temperature with various viral and bacterial infections, alleviate soreness in joints and muscles, provoked by influenza, colds. Efferalgan (UPSA) is effective for improving the condition after medical procedures or injuries. The drug is also used to relieve moderate or mild pain of non-inflammatory nature (dental, headache), especially in patients with gastric disorders.

In view of the fact that the absolute safety of use of the drug in pregnant women is not established, Efferalgan (UPAA) is allowed to be used on the recommendation of a doctor for a short period, in some cases only once.

The drug is contraindicated in patients with increased sensitivity to its components, impaired kidney and liver function of a serious nature, congenital absence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, blood diseases.

The preparation is previously dissolved in water. Patients older than fifteen years per glass recommended one or two tablets with a body weight of fifty kilograms and more. If necessary, the reception is repeated after four hours. The maximum dose is no more than eight tablets per day.

Taking medication, according to the instructions, as a rule, side effects are rare, and they have a slight degree of severity. Possible nausea, itching, hives, rashes on the skin. If any adverse effects are detected, stop taking the medication and consult a specialist.

It is not recommended to take the drug together with barbiturates, medications containing paracetamol, antiepileptic drugs, chloramphenicol and rifampicin. The simultaneous use of Effergangan with medications that contain domperidone, metoclopramide, warfarin or cholestyramine should be agreed with the attending physician.

If you exceed the recommended dose, you should visit a specialist, even if the patient is feeling well. Signs of poisoning in some cases appear after a few days. Paracetamol in high doses provokes increased sweating, stomach pain. In such cases, it is necessary to induce vomiting, take activated charcoal, call a doctor.

For the duration of therapy, alcohol withdrawal should be avoided. The drug is not recommended for more than three days as an antipyretic, more than five - as an analgesic.

Care should be exercised in the treatment of patients who are severely debilitated and depleted, as well as those prone to alcoholism.

The drug is not recommended for patients with diabetes mellitus.

The medication does not affect the ability to work with equipment and mechanisms, transport management, concentrate attention.
