The history of the 20th century - both domestic and global - is full of mysterious incidents. About one of these events to the present day is a reminder of the pass of Djatlov. What really happened on that frosty night in the Ural Mountains? This issue is exciting today, thousands of minds around the world. And for many it's not just the interest of the evening. In this area, whole studies are conducted, in the corresponding circles experts have come forward, offering their views on the Diatlov Pass, what actually happened there and who is involved in it. Perhaps, it is not an exaggeration to say that the investigation of the circumstances of this event has already turned into a kind of hobby, an original intellectual sport for many people.

Dyatlov Pass. What happened in fact from the known

In early 1959, an unremarkable group of students from the Ural Polytechnic Institute gathered in a hike to Mount Oorten, which is located in the Sverdlovsk region. Among the participants of the group six were students (group leader - Igor Dyatlov including), three graduates and an instructor of one of the neighboring tourist bases. The group left by train from Sverdlovsk on January 23. The last for the young people the mainstay of civilization was the settlement of geologists Second North. Here one of the participants of the campaign experienced health problems on January 28. Because he was forced to return to Sverdlovsk, which, perhaps, saved him a life. The remaining nine members of the tourist group moved the next day on skis in the direction of the mountains of Holat-Chakhl and Oorten.

Dyatlov Pass. What happened according to the investigation

When a group of tourists did not return home at the appointed time, moreover, they did not even give any signals that they had successfully returned to civilization, the institute began to worry. The students were due to return on 12 February. The beginning of the organization of search works was laid on February 19. Only six days later, a tent of children was found on the slope of the Holat Chakhl mountain - an empty and strangely cut with a knife in several places. The bodies of all the guys were found until May, when the snow fell completely. At different distances from the tent, with various implicit signs of the death that happened - some have severe injuries to the skull or chest, others simply froze in the snow without any obvious deadly damage. Moreover, the investigation found out that all students were leaving their tent in what they were, without even spending time to get dressed. Actually, the question of what compelled the guys to leave their tent, what they left, and is central to this whole story. The investigation opened in the spring of 1959 first had local Mansi tribes as suspects, but as a result, investigator Lev Ivanov never made any intelligible conclusions about the Diatlov Pass. What happened in fact, the investigation was unable to determine. And in his conclusion until today, a surprising phrase is indicated that the cause of death was an unknown and irresistible elemental force.

The mystery of the Pass of Dyatlov: what happened in the opinion of modern studies

Actually, the incompleteness of facts and the impossibility on their basis to somehow fully compile a mosaic of events and made the tragedy so popular. Today, there is not a single coherent theory that would combine all the oddities of this Incidents: the position of the bodies, unusual skin color of corpses, the unclear origin of the injury, the goal of cuts on the tent, the incomprehensible origin of radiation traces on the clothes of some tourists and much more. And there are dozens of versions of these, I must say, today. The most elaborate and thorough are the assumptions of death from anthropogenic catastrophe, criminal (in fact there were several camps for prisoners nearby, poachers or even foreign spies could be killers), natural ones, indicating, for example, a possible avalanche collapse. At the same time, as noted, none of the versions is able to fully explain today what really happened.
