When you look at the dog booths from the side, you get the feeling that it is not difficult to build them. Of course, the kennel is not an apartment house, but there are tricks and complications here. And we will not start with designs, but with the choice of a suitable place

Dog booths should be located on a hill (remaining dry even in protracted showers). In addition, it is necessary to take into account such a feature of most dogs as the control of their locality and their "herd" (in this case - all domestic animals). Think about where to plant the dog, so that she had the maximum review. By the way, you are also on hand: you can watch the pet, and your contact will be almost constant, which is especially important for service dogs.

Booths are installed in bright places, but there should be trees next to them, allowing the animal to rest in the summer in the shade. If there are no trees, then you should think about a covered enclosure.

Having decided on the place, we start building, which starts, oddly enough, with the measurement of the dog (you should know the height at the withers, the width at the shoulders and the length). Each animal has its own parameters, so the size of the booths is different. Counting the size of housing for the dog, remember that the dog should be able to safely stretch out in the box in its entire length and just as calmly get up. The lowest part of the booth inside should not be smaller than the height of the dog (measured from the tips of the ears to the ground).

Let's say you chose the place, with the size of the kennel determined. Now the main question: How to make a doghouse? Dogs quite easily suffer minor frosts, but they are afraid of drafts. Therefore, dogs should be without cracks.

Making a booth, start from the floor. And, again, pay attention to the cracks. Dogs like to sometimes scrape the floor (especially tied bitches), and stuck accidentally claw can cause serious injury. When the floor (shield) is ready, grind it off to avoid splinters in the paws. Only then you can proceed to the walls.

The walls must be double. The outer part can be made of a lining, the inner part - from the boards simpler, but necessarily ground. Between the layers, enclose solid sheets of foam (or felt). At the end of the walls (bottom), you need to nail the supporting board, impregnated twice with linseed oil (or tarred). Secure (knock down) three finished walls and floor.

Prepare the support frame, which then installs the booth. The height of the frame should be at least 10 cm (the booth rises above the ground for two reasons: during showers the floor does not get wet, but does not freeze in frost).

Internal seams should be sewn with a rod so that the dog does not have the ability to pull out the felt or to peel the foam. The nails are necessarily buried.

Now - turn the front wall. It must also be double and insulated, but it cuts out the entrance (entrance). The size of the eye can be made just below the height of the withers (centimeters by 5-7), but on the contrary, more (the same 7 cm) so that the dog can safely enter its dwelling. The height of the door is not less than 15 cm from the ground. For dogs of small stature, it is better to install a small pomstik (wooden shield). The entrance to the jambs is carefully handled: the nails are well hammered, the knots and corners are cut and polished. Some dog breeders chop liners with linoleum. This has its own reason: the tree will suffer less from the claws - repair the threshold is more difficult than changing linoleum sometimes. The laz is covered by a canvas apron (5 cm wider than the width of the manhole).

The last detail is the roof. Here the main thing is that she sat tight enough and removed, because the dogs' booths require regular cleaning and processing, and the nails fixed by the nails will limit access to the kennel. And configurations can be different.
