Consumer value is the main indicator of the capitalist system

Every day we are faced with the problem of choosing goods and services, preferring those or other groups of goods to others. Each person proceeds from his specific preferences to have this or that product, and also to use certain services. As a result, we are all consumers of certain products, due to which we have the opportunity to satisfy our needs for food, clothing, various services and so on. The usefulness of the product for society, as well as its ability to meet the specific human need to the fullest extent, is called consumer value, which red lines through the entire economic doctrine of the capitalist system.

Each product or service has a price, because for its production, a person spends certain resources in the form of work, time and the realization of his abilities to benefit the society. That is why the world around us is a multitude of values, the number of which grows in direct proportion to the number of services and goods that are emerging. In the economy, the consumer value includes two main groups:

  1. The value of tangible goods.
  2. The cost of any service.

The last group, in which the cost of services is presented, has its own specifics, since its indicator precisely characterizes the degree of society's transition to post-industrial development. Today, consumer value is expanding and complemented by newer and more modern services, which distinguishes a highly developed state from lagging states. Citizens of developed countries have more developed needs, as they are supplemented by such new and interesting spheres as tourism, recreation, sports, travel and cultural leisure. Being at a high stage of their development, citizens of Western Europe, the United States and Canada can afford to take leave several times a year and go on vacation, as their standard of living, as well as material support, fully meets all their basic needs. Thus, with an increase in the level of the country's development, the consumer value of services also increases in a directly proportional relationship.

It should also be noted that with the advent and active introduction of the latest computer technologies, there are absolutely new needs of society in this area. Examples of such intensive development are the growth of online stores, as well as computer games, without which many even adults simply can not do without. Convenience of using remote access to their accounts in the banking sector allowed to increase the consumer value of this segment of the financial market.

Thus, the consumer value is the ability of a certain product or group of goods to meet the needs of society to the fullest extent, and this need necessarily includes a wide range of services. To identify the needs of modern society today work tens of thousands of marketers around the world, introducing new ideas in this regard. Today we live in a global era of universal consumption, and simple proof of this are supermarkets, in which the assortment of goods can reach several tens of thousands of items. The consumer value of the product directly depends on the level of costs for its production, therefore mass conveyor production here plays a positive role, since it allows to reduce the cost of production by an order of magnitude. On the other hand, many exclusive things made by hand are of much greater value, since the costs of resources on its manufacture are quite large.
