Cash on delivery or cash payment - the safety of both the seller and the customer

Times change, technology and processes change, ways of earning and methods of paying for them. Twenty years ago, mankind could not even think that without leaving home, it would be possible not only to work, but also to pay for services, to purchase clothes, furniture, portable equipment, accessories and even products. Now, to calculate for utilities, communication services and the Internet does not even have to get up from the couch - for this there is the possibility of electronic payment.

The purchase of goods from the far and near abroad is also possible through Internet payment. In this case, there are many opportunities for fraud: paying for the purchase, the customer does not always receive it. Therefore, in the post-Soviet space, in particular, in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, a postal system has been developed that makes it possible to pay for the parcel when it is received - the so-called superimposed or hard payment. It is understood that the goods are delivered within the country.

In cases where a cash-on-delivery or cash-on-delivery payment is used when sending a parcel, a number of requirements are met:

1. For the transfer of valuable goods and things, the sender must present a list on the mail in which all the items of the goods placed in the box are listed. In this case, the parcel itself is presented for reconciliation in an open form. Thus, in the place where the package begins its journey, they know what is in it;

2. Sent goods by mail cash on delivery with the presence of inventory can not be opened until the full payment between the liaison office and the buyer. And after payment the parcel is opened in the presence of a person authorized by mail, which may be a postman. This process makes impossible the fact of fraud on the part of the recipient. Until 2005, this option was possible: on receipt of a parcel implying a superfluous payment, the client opened the cargo in a secluded corner, took out the goods and innocently declared that there was nothing in the box. Naturally, the post office did not charge any money from the fraudster and sent the parcel back, where she met disappointedly the deceived seller. As a result, the seller did not receive any money or goods. A fraudster-buyer kept money, and purchased for free the desired product;

3. The imposed or surcharged payment also protects the rights of consumers who suffer from negligent sellers. So, when you arrive at the post office of the destination, the parcel contains an inventory of the goods inside it. Therefore, if a person ordered, for example, clothes, then on the inventory and should be noted - "clothes cash on delivery." If the internal content does not match the inventory or is damaged, the customer will be refunded. And if the inventory notes that the box contains nails, and the buyer ordered a book, then he has every right not to pay.

Thus, the parcel sent by cash on delivery satisfies the interests of all parties. At the same time, guarding their interests, the post office takes care of meeting the needs of customers. It is worth noting that the payment for the parcel sent in this way will also include the cost of the postal courier services. But it is clearly worth it not to waste your health and nerves in finding the culprits in the event of fraud.
