Asocial behavior: how it manifests itself and what to do with it

People for normal health need to interact not only with individuals, but also with the society as a whole. So a person begins to feel like a member of a group and better understands what his position in society is. The formed knowledge of one's position can be a conscious motivation in order to try to occupy the highest possible position in society. But sometimes a person behaves socially wrong. And this kind of action is called "antisocial behavior". Let us consider in more detail what it is.

In the West, even a special type of incorrect personality development is singled out. We have not officially taken it. But our researchers and Western mean the same under the term "antisocial behavior". This is a destructive behavior characterized by hidden or overt hostility and perceived aggression against others. There are manifestations of varying degrees of severity. Perhaps the whole matter is limited only to the violation of social rules, but it can be much worse. Open disregard for the orders of official structures and informal leaders, the reluctance to recognize the rights of others, lying, the inclination not to respect the rights of people around are all signs of the phenomenon of "antisocial behavior".

He is diagnosed in the West in children from the age of three. If you do not pay attention to the fact that the child is inclined, for example, to torment the cat, in time the matter can reach people. So in no case should one leave the propensity for violence without attention.

Asocial behavior can be frank. It manifests itself in relation to brothers and sisters, parents, teachers and classmates. Often at school age, it takes the form of verbal abuse, a tendency to tease and beat other children. And maybe hidden, that is, associated with disrespect for property, for example, theft, vandalism or incendiary. Social psychology of antisocial behavior views as a latent form of his child's tendency to lie in a situation where serious punishment is not expected, or the desire to secretly spoil other people's toys. After such "kids" grow up, they often become clients of drug dealers and habitues of alcoholic shops.

Girls in general are less likely to behave antisocially than boys. But they are prone to more subtle manifestations. For example, they organize the persecution of women of the same sex or provoke the aggression of boys against each other. Representatives of the stronger sex are more inclined to open manifestations of socially wrong behavior, to physical aggression.

In many ways, the emergence of this behavior is related to the relationship of parents in the family. Often destructive strategies of communication in the child are due to the fact that he protests in this way against domestic violence or conflict between parents. Sometimes such children show aggression towards pets after they themselves are subjected to aggression from parents or other children. In many respects, the manifestations of wrong behavior have the character of hereditary characteristics, especially the temperament of the child and irritability. Such children usually have low cognitive abilities and are often in contact with antisocial peers.

Is there anything you can do? Yes, a good psychologist can help in educating a child to manage his anger, to understand his and other people's emotions and to find compromise solutions in difficult situations. This is often helped in group activities. In severe cases, drug therapy is used, which reduces the frequency of manifestations of impulsive behavior.
