The colored background, or the selection of individual elements of the page in the text editor "Word" is a tool designed to emphasize and draw attention to the document. But excessive infatuation is often just annoying when reading or working. Many users are wondering how to remove the color background from the Word. You can do this in several ways, starting from the version of the word processor itself.

How in the "Word" to remove the background color of the text?

In the simplest case, the colored background is used to highlight the text part of the document. In order to solve the problem of how to remove the color background in the Word, you can use the simplest tool - the fill button, which was rendered on the main toolbar.

In earlier versions of the editor, it is indicated by an inclined bucket, in later versions it is a marker with a pencil and a combination of Latin letters ab. It is enough to select the desired text fragment, click on the button and select the option of no fill from the drop-down menu (to select the entire document, it's easiest to use the combination Ctrl + A).

How in the "Word" to remove the background color when copying?

Very often, many have to create their own documents based on existing ones. In them, too, there can be a color background and fill, and it applies not only to the text, but also to the whole section or to the entire document.

How in the "Word" to remove the color background of this type? Of course, you can dig into the tools, but it will take too long. The easiest way to completely remove the formatting, because sometimes other methods to perform such operations is simply impossible.

To do this, for example, in the 2013 Vord, when you go to the main tab, you should find a button with a Latin letter A (or Aa) and an eraser. Again, it should be used when selecting part or all of the document as a whole.

Another simple but somewhat longer way is to start copying the searched text to Notepad, and then copying it from this application and inserting it into the Word. The result is the same.

General rules for removing a colored background in tables

For tabular data, it is also possible to apply background removal operations. You can select text in cells, and the cells themselves, and the entire table, depending on what you need to remove.

In the simplest version, just select the desired cells and use the delete fill button.

The Word 2003

Now a few words about using the menu. First, let's see how to remove the background color in Word 2003. This modification is slightly different from the later versions of the program, although there is also a standard text-filling tool.

As usual, you need to select a piece of text, and then go to the format menu, where you select the "Borders and Fills" section. In the appeared window on the corresponding tab of the fill, the background is removed.

Vord 2007-2010

Next, let's see how to remove the background color in Word 2010 (for 2007, this method is also suitable).

The final menu used is the same, only access to it can be obtained by first entering the page layout menu, after which a successive transition to the page background occurs, and then to the borders.

Vord 2013-2016

The versions of the "Word" 2013 and 2016 also differ from all previous ones. In order to perform operations to remove a background of any type, you first need to use the design tab on the main panel.

Next, you go to the background section of the page, in which there is a special button. After clicking on it, a drop-down menu will appear, in which the "No background" item should be selected.

A few words at a time

More recent versions of the editor have become convenient in terms of the fact that there are not only extended tips for all occasions, but also pop-up panels that appear when selecting fragments of text or other elements. It's enough just to select a part of the text or cell in the table, as soon as a quick access panel to the main functions appears, among which there are buttons that are responsible for calling context menus for working with background and color.

But in any version of the program, in order not to use alternating transitions in different menus, the necessary buttons for access to such functions can be rendered directly to the main panel. In Word 2003, you can use the view menu with a choice of toolbars or a service menu to go to the settings, where there is a section for selecting commands. For the corresponding command, the button is simply dragged to the desired location on the panel.

In the "Word" 2007, the setting is done by entering the "Office" button in the menu, and in 2013 and higher version - from the "File" menu in the "Options" section, where the quick access bar row is selected. A window with all available commands will be displayed in the right part. Simply select the desired one and click on the add button in the center of the screen. The button is automatically displayed on the main panel.
