Among such bright, but extinct and forgotten stars is Boris Amarantov, whose cause of death is still a mystery even to those who were personally acquainted with the artist.

Biography

Boris Amarantov was born on September 19, 1940 and was a descendant of several generations of priests. As a child, he saw performances of a juggler in a circus and fell ill with an arena.

Possessing huge diligence, a teenager Boris Amarantov himself mastered several circus techniques and began to arrange performances in front of peers.

Despite this, he had to take exams six times at the GUECEI. As he later told himself, he managed to enter this prestigious educational institution, only thanks to the famous mime Leonid Yengibarov, who was part of the admissions committee. An anecdote is told that the famous actor suggested to the persistent entrant 5 minutes to hold a spoon on his nose, and Amaranth wanted to become a student so much that he stood motionless for 20 minutes. Then the examiners' hearts trembled, and they decided to give the young man a chance.

In 1962, Boris Amarantov graduated from GUCEI, with a diploma number "Ke-la-la", directed by director Sergei Kashtelyan. His performance made a sensation on the "Blue Light" and immediately made the young artist famous throughout the country.

At that time in Amaranth's repertoire there were only 3 sketches: "Clown in the Italian circus", "Atomchik did finish" and "The scattered juggler", but he was gladly invited to take part in various concert programs.

Success

Even before the presentation of the diploma, Boris Amarantov took part in the Eighth World Festival of Youth and Students, which was held in the city of Helsinki. There he made a very relevant miniature "Take care of the world", more famous at that time, as "Atomshchik did not finish it".

The number was met by the multinational public with enthusiasm. Eyewitnesses say that although it lasted only 3 minutes, the ovation of the auditorium lasted three times longer.

After the foreign triumph of Amaranth, they were often sent to international tours. Becoming famous, Boris Amarantov created a pantomime theater. The main achievement of this period was the play "Miracles in the Carrying Bag", staged by G. Chukhrai, M. Donskoy and B. Amarantov, who had great success.

In the years that followed, Boris Amarantov, whose biography up to this point had caused envy among his colleagues, repeatedly experienced the pressure of the Soviet bureaucratic machine. In particular, some high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR repeatedly shut down his theater. The artist was worth the titanic works to achieve its discovery, but after the troupe began rehearsals, B. Amarantov himself was fired.

Exile from the theater heavily affected the emotional state of the artist. In addition, he was not wanted to hire in any theater, so Amaranth was forced to become a night watchman.

In the summer of 1975, the actor wrote a letter to the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In it, he renounced Soviet citizenship and demanded that he be allowed to leave the USSR. He was not only denied, but also threatened and persecuted.

Emigration

In August 1977, Amaranth finally left the USSR. After three months of wandering, he arrived in the United States. Contrary to all the hopes, acting career in the US he did not work out. Then the disillusioned actor moved to France. There he began attending pantomime classes, which were led by the great Marcel Marceau himself.

Return

When the perestroika began in the USSR, the actor decided to start life anew in his homeland. He regained his citizenship and came to Moscow. However, it turned out that no one was waiting for him there. His long-time friend Sergey Kashtelian made a particularly painful attempt. He not only did not want to help him, but also literally let him down the stairs, accusing him of betraying the Motherland. And even the sister of the artist who, in the absence of Amaranth, occupied his legal apartment, met his brother with dislike and treated him extremely disrespectfully. Such a cold reception by the closest people led to the fact that a talented artist, exhausted by life, fell into a state of passion.

Boris Amarantov (biography): the cause of death

The actor died on March 3, 1987, a few days after returning from exile. Although a medical examination was conducted, the official cause of the death of the actor was not voiced by either doctors or relatives. This was the reason that numerous fans, not having received an answer to the question of how Boris Amarantov died, began to put forward various versions of his death. In particular, knowing his uneasy relations with the authorities, some of the artist's friends believed that he was killed by order of high-ranking officials who did not forgive him disrespectful attitude towards their personalities. The artist was buried in the capital, on Vostryakovskoe cemetery next to his mother - Serafima Pavlovna Amarantova. On his grave there is no monument and only a small granite slab is installed. There is no photo on it, only an inscription that reads: "Mime, laureate of international competitions, Boris Amarantov. 1940-1987 ». He lived only 47 years and died, offended by the whole world!
