Ancient and beautiful cities of Italy

Perhaps, the "mother" of the whole of European culture can rightfully be regarded as Italy, because on its lands there was the Roman Empire before . Since then, many Italian cities have kept in their streets and squares the ruins of that ancient world that once reigned here. Time passed, and new buildings did not keep themselves waiting. On the streets of this warm country there are monuments of the Medieval era, and after that are built and pompous palaces and estates in the Baroque style. For many centuries, the cities of Italy seemed to collect on their territory all these incredible monuments of architecture, and today anyone can come here to see them with their own eyes.

We will start our tour, perhaps, from the north of the country, and Verona will be the first city. Being not yet in the tropical, but in a temperate climate, far from the sea, this city is interesting both in summer and in winter. In the cold season there is a subzero temperature, and even snow falls. It's actually very fabulous - to see a typical Italian landscape under a small layer of white snowflakes. Like all the cities of Italy, Verona combines the spirit of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Here the ancient Coliseum, ancient rich cathedrals and chic palaces have been perfectly preserved. It is worth noting that Verona is one of the most romantic corners of the planet, because here lived the fictional once-Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet.

Unique in its own way and incredibly beautiful is the city on the water - Venice. Perhaps, everyone knows that instead of streets there are countless river channels, through which locals and tourists travel by boat-gondolas. There are no noisy motorways and avenues, there are no buses or any other public transportation. As already mentioned above, the cities of Italy are famous for their unearthly palaces, and in these beauties it surpasses Venice in particular. Many tourists who have visited here, consider this paradise on the water the most beautiful corner of the planet.

Undoubtedly, it's worth to see the capital of this sunny country. Rome is the center of concentration of centuries-old history, architecture and various monuments. It is considered one of the largest megacities of the country, as well as the center of European culture and religion. It is important that the central part of the city, which was built in the era of the Roman Empire, occupies a small area. It is joined by Gothic and Romanesque cathedrals, followed by palaces, which were built for themselves by wealthy feudal lords and clergy. A large part of the city is occupied by a new part of the city, which, by the way, is also very interesting and beautiful. It is worth noting that the capital is very different and architecture and culture, so it is not too similar to all other cities in Italy.

A list of these wonderful and warm places can be continued for a very long time, and all the sights can not be fully listed. In Italy there are many resort places, where the sea and sand, as they say, as in paradise, and the sun heats almost all year round. It is important to say that traveling to this country will bring pleasure even to the most exacting tourist. And in order not to get lost, you will need a detailed map of Italy with cities and routes, which will minimize the time spent on the road and the forces.
