  4. Drug in drops "Licorice root extract". This preparation contains ethyl alcohol. That is why it is allowed to use it only in a diluted form (with water, tea).

In addition to traditional medicines, expectorant folk remedies are often used to treat children's cough. These include broths from such herbs as oregano, licorice root, mint and marshmallows.

All of the above plants have the same properties as the pharmacy products. However, unlike the latter, they almost never cause side effects in children (allergies, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, etc.). It is for this reason that most parents prefer only to medicinal plants that have expectorant properties.
