Ambrobene is a means for internal oral administration. It is a mucolytic agent that reduces the adhesive properties of sputum and removes it from the respiratory tract. Stimulates the production of enzymes that break down the bonds between polysaccharides of sputum, excite bronchial cilia to prevent them from sticking together. After 30 minutes after taking the drug Ambrobene (the instruction specifies this) begins to act, its effect persists for 6-12 hours.

This drug is used for diseases of the respiratory tract, acute bronchial asthma, pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, laryngitis, etc. Doses and the scheme of taking the drug depend on the form of its release: tablets, capsules, syrup, solution. The most convenient form of cough remedy for children is syrup.

Take the medicine "Ambroben" after meals, 4 ml of solution or 1 tablet, or 10 ml of syrup 3 times a day. After three days, the dose can be reduced to 2 times with any form of the drug. These are recommendations for adults. Treatment of children under 12 years of age, the determination of the optimal dosages and the form of the drug should be done only by a doctor. For preterm infants, the amberbone is not used. Children under 6 years of age are not prescribed an amberbone in tablets, and up to 12 years in capsules.

Patients with diabetes should take into account that the syrup contains fructose and saccharin sodium. With fructose intolerance, this form of drug should not be taken.

The composition of the drug, because its basis is ambroksol - a traditional drug that liquefies phlegm and contributes to its evacuation from the lungs, which protects against the development of the inflammatory process in the bronchi. Ambrobene is one of the trade names of ambroxol. In its composition there are no colorants, preservatives, thickeners. Ambrobe is recommended for inclusion in the first aid kit.

The drug rarely gives side effects. Only in isolated cases, there are allergic reactions in the form of rash, facial swelling, dyspnea, headache, temperature, weakness, respiratory failure. Rarely there are abnormalities in the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, but diarrhea or constipation, heartburn and nausea accompanied by vomiting are possible. In such cases, you need to stop taking the medication and take the patient to a medical facility.

The drug "Ambrobene" is released in pharmacies without a prescription. The product in the form of syrup is popular in the treatment of cough in children, but the use of this medication requires constant monitoring by the doctor, timely correction of the dose and timing of admission.
