Actors of the "Velvet Gallery". The plot and genre of the series

Events of the picture "Gallery Velvet" focus on the drama in the fate of a high-end Madrid department store, the heyday of the work fell in the 1950s.

The main idea of the picture

In 1958, there was a place in Spain where everyone wanted to buy. At least once in my life everyone would like to get to the "Velvet Gallery" store. The kingdom of elegant, exquisite, expensive costumes became the keeper of the love story.

The series "Gallery Velvet" colorfully describes the business and personal life of the characters of that time. The narrative is effectively complemented by magnificent historical costumes.

The actors of the "Velvet" Gallery filled this film with everyone:

  • Desires;
  • Feelings;
  • Loyalty;
  • Scandals;
  • Intrigues;
  • Betrayal.

It's a vintage romantic melodrama.

Love component

The main story line, which is displayed on the screen by the famous Spanish actors of the "Velvet" Gallery, is the love story of Alberto (performed by Miguel Angel Silvestre), the heir of the dynasty that owns the largest and most successful fashion houses in Spain in the late 1950s, and Anna (Paula Echevarrie), who works in this company as a seamstress.

For the first time the main characters meet in Madrid back in those times when they were both children. After the death of her mother Anna moves to a big city to live with her uncle. He was the head of the department responsible for the selection of personnel in the fashion house "Gallery Velvet". Thanks to the relations of this relative Anna succeeds in becoming first an assistant to the seamstress in the workshop, and then one of them.

The love of the protagonist and heir of the empire flares up in their teenage years, but their plan to escape together was not destined to come to fruition. The reason for this is the aristocratic family of the young man who has done everything to destroy the dreams of the couple in love about a joint future.

Everybody wants power

Alberto was sent to study in England. So they had to share the distance with Anna, capable of ruining any feelings.

In 1958, Alberto returned to Madrid with a diploma from the London School of Economics, just days before the opening of the main of the stores belonging to their dynasty. The department store has become a magical place, where it commands dazzling luxury. This event was covered in the press at the level with news about fashion houses that demonstrated their collections on the catwalks of Paris, Milan and New York.

The higher society ascribes Alberto a romance with Christina Otegi (performed by Manuela Velasco). Such a beautiful, elegant, attractive girl from an aristocratic family can easily be imagined as the mother of future heirs. In fact, she is only interested in the state, status, position in society. For the sake of this she was ready to weave intrigues, manipulate people, use all for her own benefit.

Meanwhile, the arrogant second wife of Don Raphael Gloria (Natalia Millan) involves everyone in conspiracies aimed at transferring the management of the fashionable empire to her daughter Patricia (Miriam Giovanelli).

Don Rafael, the true king of fashion, does not even want to hear about this kind of future for his offspring, whom he has been managing since he turned 30. He has every intention of transferring the company to Alberto. Then few of the characters know that this day will come much earlier than they might think.

Fighting the main characters for their happiness

As for Anna and Alberto, their reunion is trying to resist everything. Unfortunately, their plans to live freely and happily away from their families and the legendary fashion house face a number of difficulties and obstacles.

Among the elegant fabrics and high fashion gowns, Anna and Alberto do not let their feelings go, knowing that the boy's family is against his relationship with a simple girl who, in their opinion, needs only his condition.

Away from customers and surveillance cameras, the ruthless Doña Blanca (Aitan Sanchez-Gijón) behaves extremely cruelly to the poor seamstress. Family conflicts are exacerbated. The actors of the "Velvet" Gallery skillfully show the confrontation between Alberto and his stepmother Doña Gloria, who is also encouraged by his plans to modernize the concept of the family kingdom of beauty.

It is also the desire of Alberto and Anna to struggle for their destiny and to achieve freedom for their forbidden love. A young man rebels against the expectations that others impose upon him. At this time, the seamstress working in the fashion house "Gallery Velvet" (Paula Echevarria who plays), seeks to become a designer, struggles to establish itself as a creative person.

The problem is that Alberto does not want to continue his father's business.

The actors of the "Gallery of Velvet" unrivaledly broadcast on the screen scenes about how the characters are opposed to the web of jealousy, ambition and dazzling fashion.

The protagonist is ready to remain without an inheritance in order to live his life with a beloved, and not be a puppet in the hands of an influential and despotic father.
