3D crochet patterns: description and schemes

A canvas made by a crochet is almost always slightly denser than the one that is formed when working with knitting needles. This is due primarily to the fact that when forming the columns, the thread is subjected to repeated twisting, as a result, the thickness of the web becomes much greater than the thickness of the yarn. There are many methods that allow you to soften the binding, make it more loose and soft. However, this is not always true. In some cases, getting a tight and even hard canvas is the ultimate goal of a knitter. It is for such situations that numerous numerous crochet patterns are developed.

Where to apply three-dimensional ornaments

The list of products that are knitted with such patterns is very wide, here and garments, and accessories, and decor for the interior.

In clothes, crochet patterns are necessary for knitting cardigans, collars, cuffs, berets, hats, scarves and many other items. However, applying the scheme for the purpose of making a coarse cloth, it is necessary to take into account the purpose of the product. It is very easy to make a mistake and get a heavy, bulky and completely unattractive chain mail instead of the planned sweater of large mating. When going to make any product larger than a mitten, it is desirable to tie a control sample.

The receptions, due to which the three-dimensional patterns are formed

In fact, there are a lot of such ornaments, and there is no sense in describing them. However, the crochet patterns can be combined into several main groups:

  • Bound from the thick thread.
  • Openwork with three-dimensional elements.
  • Solid with convex fragments.

Often, the volume associated with crocheted patterns is given by such techniques:

  • Lush bricks.
  • Relief bars.
  • Knitting with the capture of only one "pigtail" loop the previous row.
  • Lining, tied with columns without a crochet.

Openwork ornaments with relief fragments

They assume the presence of an openwork background on which the compositions of the relief elements are placed. The photos below show the crochet patterns, diagrams and description for them.

Blue color is highlighted.

Due to the presence of a large number of mesh, this pattern is very easy to cut or expand, and also to form the contours of the part in accordance with the pattern.

The undoubted advantage of this scheme is also the location of the "knobs" in a checkerboard pattern. This method avoids the excessive angularity and geometricity of the pattern.

The branches are made with lush columns. This kind of volumetric elements is formed by simultaneously tying several columns with a crochet. For the correct execution of a lavish column, all columns with a crochet (or with several nakidami) should have a common base. The optimal is 3-7 columns with a crochet, then a magnificent column turns out to be really voluminous.

Volumetric patterns of crochet: patterns of a pattern from lush columns

A good example of the patterns described above is one that is depicted in the following diagram.

Here the magnificent columns are made in a very unusual way: across the canvas.

To knit each of them, first make a column with one or more outfits.

Then wrap it in unfinished columns.

The amount is selected based on the thickness of the yarn.

At the finish stage, all unfinished columns that are on the hook are tied together.

That's what should turn out in the end.

3D crocheted patterns: relief rows

In volume rows almost all the patterns designed for the hook can be equipped. They can emphasize existing lines of ornamentation or form new ones.

Such patterns of crochet crochet are performed in two ways:

  1. Tying any lining. This method can be used to produce a circular or even row. When knitting, a thick and thick yarn or wire is laid along the web. Then the column is formed so that the working thread completely hides the lining (it is inside the row). The resulting series appears rather relief and stands out against the background of a flat cloth.
  2. The second method is associated with a special way of capturing the loops of the previous series. When knitting the bars, the hook should be inserted not for both "pigtails" of the lower row, but only for one of them. As a result, a kind of scar is formed, which runs across the entire canvas.

Cloth of thick yarn

An elementary way, thanks to which it is possible to easily obtain a three-dimensional pattern, is the use of a thick yarn for knitting. We are talking about yarns with a thickness of at least 100 g / 100 m.

Today, the assortment of many traditional and online stores amazes with its diversity. Here, and thick wool, and acrylic, and cotton, and even lace yarn from knitted cloth. Using such unconventional materials allows you to create truly original and unique products.

A feature of knitting from thick yarn becomes the use of a very large hook (7-20 mm). In a complex pattern, there is no longer any need, since it will not be visible anyway. It is better to pay attention to the accuracy of knitting and the observance of a uniform density.

Embossed Column

One of the most common dense ornaments is a three-dimensional braided crochet pattern. The following photograph shows an example of a fabric made in this way.

In ready-made form, such a knitting looks like knitted fabrics. It is based on the same principle: an elementary crossing of loops or separately connected elements of the canvas in the required order.

Relief bars are formed when the hook is inserted not under the "braids" of the loops of the previous row, but directly under the column itself. Depending on which side of the fabric the relief column is formed, it can be convex or recessed. Their combination and allows you to get different patterns.

Patterns are simpler limited only by the interlacing of columns, and the formation of a three-dimensional braid requires a separate knitting of its elements with subsequent weaving. This process is illustrated by the following photo.

Here you can see how the bands of the future bundle are formed with the help of short return rows, and then, after its weaving, knitting of the common row resumes.
