"Young Guard": a brief summary. A brief summary of Fadeyev's novel "The Young Guard"

The city of Krasnodon (the former working village) is located in the east of Ukraine, on the border with Russia. He became famous for the facts connected with the youth partisan detachment, which began its activity during the German occupation. After the liberation of Krasnodon in 1943 and the publication of the novel by writer Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Fadeyev in 1945, this city became very popular. This book is called "Young Guard". Its brief content will help readers to know the fate of the Komsomol members who defended their Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.

How it all began, or Getting to know the characters

In July 1942 a group of girls, including Uliana Gromova, Valya Filatov and Sasha Bondarev (all of them - recent graduates of the secondary school of the mining village of Pervomaiskoye), frolic on the river bank. But they are disturbed by the sounds of bombers flying overhead, and the distant rumble of artillery. Each of the girls claims that if evacuation begins, it will remain and will fight with the German invaders. Suddenly explosions shook the earth.

Girls come out of the forest and see the road, packed with military and civilian transport. Komsomol hurry to the village. Ulyana meets Luba Shevtsova, who reports that the Soviet troops are retreating. It was decided to blow up the plant, to hastily evacuate documents and equipment. Some party workers, led by the leader of the local partisans Ivan Protsenko, remain in the village, the remaining residents are also being evacuated.

Evacuation and acquaintance with Sergei Tyulenin

So begins the work "Young Guard". A brief summary of the first chapters introduces the reader to the main participants of all future events. Here there are such characters as Komsomolets Anatoly Popov, Viktor Petrov and Oleg Koshevoi. There is a description of the evacuation, during which German bombers attack the convoy of refugees.

And at this time in Krasnodon, hospital staff are trying to place the wounded soldiers who were in the hospital, at the homes of local residents. Returns home after building defense and digging trenches Sergei Tyulenin, a seventeen-year-old guy who witnessed the Nazis' attack on Voroshilovgrad.

When he realized that the Red Army troops were doomed, he assembled rifles, hand grenades, revolvers and ammunition, and then buried them in his backyard. A further summary of Fadeyev's novel The Young Guard will tell about the invasion of the settlement of the German troops and about the actions of the population remaining in Krasnodon.

Invasion of German invaders and reaction of local residents

The Nazis are arriving in Krasnodon. Sergey watches their approach. German General Baron von Wenzel occupies the house of Oleg Koshevoy, in which there remained his mother and grandmother. Others cut jasmine and sunflower bushes around the village, leaving no cover for a possible enemy. They settle in local dwellings, drink, eat and bawl songs. About forty wounded Soviet soldiers who remained in the hospital were brutally shot.

Sergei Tyulenev and Valya Borsch hid in the attic of their school to spy on the enemy. They watched the German headquarters, which was located directly opposite the school building. Sergei on the same night digs several bottles of incendiary mixture in his yard and sets fire to the headquarters.

So the book "Young Guard", a brief description of which describes individual events of the Second World War, already from the first pages introduces the reader to the heroic characters. Komsomol members, who, despite their young age, were not afraid to confront the Nazi invaders.

Return of Oleg Koshevoy and further confrontation

What events will be covered by the further summary? "Young Guard" is not only the name of the work. This is the Komsomol underground organization, which was formed in Krasnodon. And everything begins with the return to the village of Oleg Koshevoy. He meets Sergey Tyulenin, and together the guys begin to seek contact with the underground to convince the partisans that they can be trusted, despite their young age.

The guys decide to collect all the weapons that can still remain in the steppe after the battle, and reliably hide. Moreover, they are going to create their own youth organization. Philip Lyutikov, who was secretary of the district committee, soon attracted to the underground work of many Komsomol members, among them Oleg Koshevoy and Sergei Tyulenev. So the "Young Guard" was formed. The novel, whose brief content tells the reader about the members of this organization, and was named in her honor.

Not all turned out to be brave Komsomol members

Further, the novel describes the battles of the partisan detachment led by Protsenko. In the beginning everything goes well, but after a while the fighters get into the environment. A special group is allocated, which should ensure the retreat of the detachment. In it is Stakhovich. With what now the reader will get a brief summary?

"Young Guard" is a novel in which, unfortunately, there are not only the images of brave Komsomol members defending their Motherland and relatives from the German invaders. There were some who did not find enough courage to fight back. Among them was the Komsomol member Stakhovich, who was scared and fled to Krasnodon. And there he deceived, saying that he had sent a staff to organize the partisan movement. The next traitor is Chairman Fomin. Arrests of party members are taking place in the district. Many of them Nazis executed, digging into the earth alive.

Active activity of the organization

Lyubov Shevtsova, also a member of the Young Guards organization (the brief of the novel already mentioned her name), shortly before these brutal arrests was sent by an underground organization for special courses. A very bright and pretty girl now easily establishes contacts necessary for the underground with the Nazis, and also extracts important information. So the most important events of the novel "The Young Guard" begin to unfold.

The book, the brief content of which only superficially draws the vicissitudes of life of young people in the times of the Second World War, tells in great detail about every young Guards hero and his tragic fate. Due to the active actions of the Komsomol members leaflets were hung up, Ignat Fomin, who handed over his fellow villagers, was hanged. Then the prisoners of war of the Soviet Army were released.

The youth organization consisted of several groups. Each was responsible for the tasks assigned to it. Someone attacked cars moving with Nazi groups, others attacked tank cars. And there was another squad that acted absolutely everywhere. It was headed by Sergei Tyulenev. Do you want to know how things were going now? We offer you a brief summary.

"Young Guard" (Fadeev AA), or Careless actions of members of the Komsomol

Here comes the tragic end of the novel. The work "Young Guard" Fadeev AA tells in his final chapters about the imprudent act of members of the organization, which was the cause of numerous arrests and deaths. Before the New Year, Komsomol members came across a car with gifts for German soldiers. The guys decided to sell them on the market, the underground fighters needed money. So the police left on their trail.

Arrests began. Lyutikov immediately ordered that all members of the "Young Guard" leave the city. But not everyone managed to leave. Stakhovich began to extradite his comrades under the torture of German soldiers. Not only the young Komsomol members were arrested, but also the adult underground. Oleg Koshevoi took all the blame for the organization's actions on himself and until the last he was silent about the main leaders, despite the tortures to which he was subjected.

The last pages of a remarkable work

What does the work that Fadeev AA ("The Young Guard") end with? The summary of the chapters told the reader about practically all the main events connected with the Komsomol organization. And it remains to add only a few words about the fact that thanks to the courage and bravery of many Komsomol members the Germans never learned that the head of the underground was Liutikov.

The Young Guards were severely beaten and tortured. Many already did not even feel the blows, but kept silent. And then the half-dead, exhausted by endless bullying prisoners were killed and thrown into the mine. And already on the fifteenth of February, Soviet tanks appeared on the territory of Krasnodon. Thus ended Fadeev's famous novel about the courage and courage of young Komsomol members of this city.
