What is the scripture?

Divine revelations occurred at the hands of the sacred writers and were originally written on a thin papyrus or parchment scroll. Instead of pens used a pointed reed stick, which was dipped in special ink. Such books were more like a long ribbon, which was wound on a pole. At first they were written on only one side, but later they were sewn for convenience. So, over time, the Hagakure scripture became like a full-fledged book.

But let's talk about that collection of sacred texts, which is known to all Christians. In divine revelations or the Bible it is said about the salvation of all mankind by the Messiah, who incarnated in Jesus Christ. By the time of writing, these books are divided into Old Testament and New Testament. In the first, the scriptures contain information about what the Supreme God revealed to people through God-inspired prophets even before the coming of the Savior Himself. The New Testament speaks of the realization of salvation through teaching, incarnation and life on earth.

Initially, the prophet Moses with God's help opened the first scripture - the so-called "Law" of 5 books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. For a long time the Pentateuch was the Bible, but after them were written complementary revelations: the Book of Joshua, then the Book of Judges, then the Scriptures of the Kings, the Chronicles of Chronicles. Finally, the history of Israel is completed and brought to the main goal by the Maccabees books.

Thus appears the second section of the Divine Scripture, called "Historical books." In them there are separate teachings, prayers, songs and psalms. By the later time is the third division of the Bible. And the fourth was the scripture about the creation of the Holy Prophets.

The inspiration of the Bible

The Bible differs from other literary works with divine illumination and supernaturalism. It is the inspiration that made the book rise to the highest perfection, without suppressing the natural forces of mankind and preventing errors. Thanks to this, revelations are not simple memoirs of people, but a real work of the Most High. This fundamental truth awakens to recognize the sacred writings as inspired.

Why people are so precious Scripture

First of all, it contains the foundations of our faith, which is why it is so dear to all mankind. Of course, it is not easy for a modern person to be transferred to the epoch of that time, for thousands of years separate the reader from that situation. However, when we read and get acquainted with that era, with the peculiarities of the language and the main tasks of the Holy Prophets, we begin to realize more deeply the entire spiritual meaning and richness of the written.

Reading the Biblical tales, a person begins to see the specific problems that concern modern society, in religious and moral terms, the primordial conflicts between evil and good, unbelief and faith that are inherent in mankind. Historical lines are still dear to us because the events of the past are correctly and truthfully described in them.

In this sense, the scriptures can not be compared with modern and ancient tales. The right decisions of moral problems or errors, set forth in the Bible, will serve as a guide for solving social and personal difficulties.
