Why do you need a city trauma center? Such a department of the polyclinic is required for:

  • The provision of primary health or medical care, including emergency, with various injuries, as well as diseases of bone or muscle systems;
  • Providing children with primary medical or health care, including emergency care, with various injuries;
  • Providing emergency dental or surgical care in the evening or at night;
  • Carrying out a number of measures to restore the function of systems and organs that were damaged as a result of injuries;
  • Training (and, if not possible and restoring) patients and their immediate family to self-service in accordance with the new living conditions that have arisen as a result of injuries to the bone or muscle system.

Medical indications for emergency care

In an adult or children's traumatology clinic in Moscow and other cities in Russia you can contact if available:

  • Uninfected soft tissue wounds without damage to muscles, tendons, large vessels, nerve trunks, which are accompanied by a general satisfactory state of the patient;
  • Bruises;
  • Sprains of the ligamentous apparatus of the joints, which are not complicated by hemarthrosis;
  • Traumatic dislocations in the joints of the upper limbs, as well as the feet and fingers of the hand;
  • Single fractures of the ribs without any damage to the pleura;
  • Bruises of the spine, thorax and so on;
  • Closed fractures of bones that are accompanied without bias or with displacement, but only if the fragments are susceptible to retention and reposition;
  • Limited burns, but less than 5% of the body surface;
  • Frostbites that do not require surgical intervention.

Traumatology point is able to quickly organize recovery treatment for patients with injuries of the musculoskeletal system in specialized physiotherapy units. In this case, trauma doctors for these purposes can attract relevant specialists, namely: rheumatologist, cardiologist, therapist, neurologist, physiotherapist, surgeon, and so on.

It should also be noted that all round-the-clock trauma centers in Moscow and other cities of Russia are equipped with everything necessary to provide prompt, qualified medical care for any animal bites, skin and musculoskeletal injuries that do not require hospitalization.

What is included in the

Any trauma center includes:

  • An office for primary patients, where one or two trauma doctors must be admitted;
  • The registry where the patients are being recorded for repeated reception (as a rule, the primary one is held without access to the registration window);
  • Children's office of repeated admission;
  • Adult reception room;
  • One or two dressings designed to treat wounds, as well as burn surfaces;
  • Gypsum cabinet, intended for the application of various plaster casts;
  • The surgical room intended for primary surgical treatment of wounds, as well as other surgical interventions;
  • A vaccination room designed to administer drugs that are essential for the prevention of such dangerous infections as rabies or tetanus;
  • A dental office where surgeons and dentists should conduct the procedure;
  • A separate X-ray room, which is equipped with modern X-ray equipment.

Why is it necessary?

It should be noted that in large populated areas, it is envisaged that not only common centers exist, but specially directed. So, if necessary, in Moscow or other major cities, you can contact the eye trauma center. However, in any of them the following procedures are carried out:

  • Treatment of wounds with subsequent suturing;
  • X-ray diagnostics for any injuries of the musculoskeletal system;
  • A course of prophylactic vaccination against rabies after bites by animals;
  • Treatment of bruises, fractures and sprains of ligaments;
  • Correction of bone dislocations, reposition in fractures with displacement of fragments of bones;
  • Emergency tetanus prophylaxis;
  • Rendering of the first medical aid for burns, which were formed on a small area (except for cases when treatment in the burn center is necessary);
  • Provision of emergency dental or surgical care;
  • Removal of any foreign bodies that have fallen into soft tissue.

Non-standard cases

In case of acute need, patients from the trauma center are referred for hospitalization to the Department of Traumatology, Surgery or Neurosurgery.

It should be noted that in such centers, medical assistance is provided to absolutely all applicants free of charge, regardless of the absence or availability of a policy and residence permit.
