What is a declassed element

Many have heard the phrase "declassed element", but very few people know what the term actually means. In addition to sociologists, this phrase will forever remain in the memory of admirers of Yegor Letov's creativity , thanks to one of his famous songs, but let's still figure out what significance it has from a scientific point of view.

Value

A declassed element, or, as such people are called, lumpen - it is a foam that emerges during the crisis moments of revolutions. The main thing that is important for these people is, using confusion, to get social status, to become prosperous, but not through labor, but by parasitizing on society. So it was considered even during the revolution in 1917.

Considering the consideration of the third group of concepts, social policy is a kind of social activity, the focus of which is initially on potentially insecure sections of the population, namely marginalized, disabled and declassed elements. This allows, using state aid and public charity, to provide them with an opportunity to reach a minimum level of acceptable satisfaction of their needs, protecting classes that are better off from the possible manifestation of the uncontrolled rage of the lower strata.

The manifestation of the declassed elements in Germany

People of this class showed themselves during the reign of Hitler. When it was not the easiest period for the German people, many reactionary organizations emerged that consisted of both the sons of the bourgeoisie and the declassed elements. It was believed that they occupy their special place, which lies between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. In other words, the marginal is a declassed element whose existence is on the verge of survival between the rich and middle strata of society.

It is believed that there are always a number of citizens in society who can not be involved in the production process, since they do not have a workforce, or it is too low for the employer to become interested in it. Basically, these people lose hope for earnings and are forever deprived of the opportunity to be part of the system. Due to their qualifications, there may be a mistaken belief that they still belong to the capitalist class, being in constant search of work. But in fact, such a person is a declassed element, close to the lower class, on a par with patients in psychiatric hospitals and residents of old people's homes. That is, they continue to receive part of the public wealth and are lumpen of the higher world.

The emergence of the concept

About such a concept, as the declassed elements of society, first spoke in the days of the first socialist revolutions. This is due to the influx of people who have no minimum earnings, or housing, creating radical parties and seeking to occupy a niche in society. These are very poor layers of the population, who do not have to live, but to survive in a society in the truest sense of the word. Therefore, this term of sociological science is considered a dangerous element for society. After all, the anger growing in the minds of these people, sooner or later, can affect the more affluent strata of society. And the most terrible thing is that the declassed element is a person who simply has nothing to lose.
