Visit the museum of Permian antiquities

Museums of Perm (the photo below shows the House of Meshkov) are represented by thirteen units. The most visited museum of the city is the Perm Art Gallery. It houses the world-famous collection of Permian wooden sculpture.

Museums of Perm can be proud of their workers. They employ 908 people. Six people have a degree, the majority with a higher education, the rest have received a secondary special. Many have a work experience of over 10 years.

Opening a branch

The Museum of Local Lore (Perm) dates back to 1890. During his existence, he changed the location several times. But since 2007 and to this day its main building is the House of Meshkov. Meshkov was a large local entrepreneur, a benefactor. He purchased the building in 1886. According to the project of architect A. Turchevic, restoration was carried out, as a result of which the structure takes a modern look and is one of the most beautiful mansions of old Perm. An exposition devoted to the history of Permsky Krai is open in it.

Local History Museum (Perm) Not so long ago, opened a new branch, it happened in 2011. He thought about in 2009, within the famous cultural revolution of the city, which was just beginning its movement. And today the Museum of Permian Antiquities offers to go all who want a path of evolution - from the birth of life on the planet to the era of mammals.

Permian land kept a large number of ancient burial grounds, thus making a tangible contribution not only to domestic paleontology, but also to the world. Therefore, the collected collections of the Perm Territory are priceless. The exhibition is open exactly on the land of the historical homeland of these finds, so it should be, because Perm is the only city that is forever inscribed in world geology and paleontology.

Museum of Permian Antiquities

"Night of Museums" in Perm was held for the eighth time. This name is very conditional, since all events took place in the evening, from 18 hours. Museums of Perm met their audience with a broad program that ended with a festive fireworks display. What could be more romantic than a night spent with dinosaurs?

We leave to them. The first museum hall is called "Paleokontakt". There are many children here, they are much more numerous than adults, they are perfectly oriented in what is happening, act boldly and look with curiosity, they also create crafts and paint in the "Workshop of primitive illustrator." Looking at our children, one can not help thinking that the children of ancient people were certainly as fearless and mobile. And if they had met in some parallel world, they would surely have found a common language.

Permian geological period

Near the "Library of Paleontological Discoveries" a crowd of children gathered to read aloud. The boy with a confident voice conducts a story about great scientists, ancient creatures, travels, unknown lands, about the Permian geological period, which is unique in the history of our Earth has a Russian name. Everyone was delighted with this discovery. Further we learn that it began 299 million years ago and lasted 50 million years. At that time, instead of our six there was only one supercontinent, and around it stretched a huge ocean - Pantalassa. We are trying to learn, feel and understand everything that happened on our planet in the distant past.

The dreadful exhibits tower above the visitors. One can imagine that in this very place there is now a wild forest of the time, which is teeming with herbivorous lizards with scutosa, amphibians camacobs, reptile-like reptiles, and you are small and defenseless. Moving on, we finally see the mammoth. Not far from it stands his baby - cute mammoth Dima, a copy of the very mammoth, who was found in the Magadan region in 1977.

What did the ancient animals feel?

The exhibition organizer Natalia Afanasyeva says that paleontology evokes memories of beings who lived in distant ancient times on our Earth. Brings back to life those who are no longer with us, and those who live today. The basis of this exhibition is the memory of the past of the planet. It is preserved in fossils, minerals, books about discoveries in paleontology. With the help of these tools, we try to recreate the full picture of that time: what were the ancient animals, what did they feel, what was their environment, what nature was at that time?

A large team is now working on this: musicians who play authentic ethnic instruments, animators, moderators of the audio-visual performance "Voices of the Earth and the Wind". They embody this fantasy.

Are the exhibits alive?

The museum of Permian antiquities sounds. The voices of the visitors merge with the song of the flute, with the sound of the Tibetan bowls, the deaf drumbeats, something vibrating and clicking. Looking and listening, you can distinguish between the rustle of plants and the whisper of the wind, the glow of light and the shadow of strange creatures. Dinosaurs all hear and feel it together with us, sensing our presence.

Continuation of life

One of the creators of the performance "Voices of the Earth and the Wind" Alexei Khoroshev says that people come to the Permian Antiquities Museum (Perm) to look at ordinary bones. But this is not just the remaining memory of the animals that once inhabited our planet. Bones are evidence of evolution. They prove that we are the continuation of life. It does not disappear and is scattered everywhere, breathes, makes sounds, lights up, flows from one form to another.

Any place has the property of accumulating energy, and if there was bright music, then it is necessarily positive. And if good people gather , then it turns into a place of accumulation of power. So says one philosopher.

The Museum of Permian Antiquities bids farewell to us. The street, meeting with rain, awakens reality. But Perm citizens and visitors of the city in the memory will be captured huge magnificent creatures that left the planet Earth about 65 million years ago.
