Uninterruptible Power Systems

The uninterruptible power supply system is a system that allows to ensure normal operation of devices during power surges, including the possibility of maintaining the operating mode of the device for a while with complete disconnection of the central power supply.

Uninterruptible power supply is an automatic device that serves to provide equipment connected to the system with uninterrupted voltage within the limits of the norm. These sources may differ in power size and schematic base.

Uninterruptible power supply systems are mainly used by consumers for whom stable operation of equipment (in any situation) is extremely important. These are people who work with computer equipment, which requires a constant supply of current. For example, Internet providers, which must ensure the high availability of servers, medical centers, the equipment of which serves to support the life support of patients, etc.

The dcp of a direct current can be conditionally divided into two types. The first is devices capable of generating an electric current on their own. These include diesel and gasoline generators, solar power sources, wind towers, etc. The second - the devices that give electricity if necessary. In fact, such systems can be safely called a battery. These may include UPS or UPS.

Uninterruptible power systems UPS are divided into two classes: online SPB and offline SPB. To date, online systems are more in demand. For example, SPB with a double voltage conversion system. In this mode, the alternating voltage turns into a constant voltage, and the battery charge takes place . In the event of the disconnection of the electric current flow or its sudden jump, the reverse action takes place - the DC current is converted into an alternating current. The accumulator as a power storage device is connected between the inverter and the rectifier, which performs the reverse action. The quality of the conversion result depends directly on the accuracy of the voltage and the sinusoid.

Uninterruptible power systems, which relate to offline mode, are installed in parallel with the main electrical network. The incoming voltage first passes through the filters. In the event of voltage failure or full absence, they also automatically switch to batteries. However, in the absence of an electrical current in the network during the switch to the backup drives for a while, just a few milliseconds, the voltage disappears altogether. Such uninterruptible power systems are used in areas that are not so categorical in relation to the short-term disappearances of electric current.

There is another big plus in the possibility of using such equipment. Uninterruptible power systems can be designed in such a way that the supply of current to the maximum consumption devices is provided bypassing the UPS, for example, to the main power supply network , through automatic switching systems or gas generators. Accordingly, the technique, sensitive to voltage drops (TV, computer, refrigerators, microwave ovens, etc.), will be reliably protected.
