Being one of the largest states in the world, the Russian Federation occupies almost one sixth of the world's land area. The presence of huge reserves of natural resources ensures the raw material independence of the country and the stable operation of various branches of the economic complex.

The Russian Federation is rightfully considered a naval power, its borders are washed by the waters of three oceans. Thanks to a direct access to the sea, there is an opportunity to maintain economic relations with countries around the world.

The political and geographical position of Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union has changed. The world has become multipolar, many established links have disappeared, some international organizations have disintegrated. The country has to make a lot of efforts in order to once again take the worthy place of the world leader in geopolitics.
