The development board - what is this ?!

The prototyping board is a universal printed circuit board, that is, a surface specially designed for mounting a variety of radio components. There are hundreds of holes on it, which are electrically connected by means of metal strips. The conclusions of the microcircuits and radio components are inserted into these small holes, and then connected by means of pieces of stripped wires. In this case, the rows of contacts located at the top, bottom and middle of the board are designed to combine multiple points of the circuit with ground and power supply. Especially it should be noted that the breadboard does not require the presence of a soldering iron, flux and solder. In addition, when working with it there is no risk of overheating of the part, and also there are no difficulties with multiple installation of circuits.

Types of prototyping boards

Currently, experts identify three main types of prototyping boards. First, these are universal models, on the surface of which only Plated holes. Later, the developer will have to connect them with jumpers. The second type is dedicated boards. On such surfaces there are both standard chains (pre-diluted), and paths and openings designed for non-standard circuits. And finally, the third type is a printed circuit board designed for digital devices. In this case, over the entire surface of the power bus, and the intended locations for the microcircuits are planned.

Prototyping board, made by own hands

Make a self-made fee in case of need is quite simple and can be done by any person. As a material for its basis, non-packed textolite is best suited. The lines of the breadboard can be applied with a ruler and a sharp awl. As for the holes, they can be made by means of a drill 0,8. The conductors themselves can be made from copper wire, and the necessary radio components are installed by soldering. In this case, all the elements are fixed not from the bottom side, but from the top. In addition, it is very important that the conclusions The radio components were bent in such a way that they ran parallel to the conductors. The foundation of the development board is ready!

Problems with the use of prototyping boards

Developers, who by their activities constantly use prototypes of various electronic devices, note that their application is associated, as a rule, with a number of problems. The first of these is the most obvious, and is that any prototyping board is handmade. And in the event of an error in the scheme, it must be re-soldered. Secondly, it should be said that to create a single prototype of an electronic device, making a printed circuit board quite often is simply unprofitable. Thirdly, if circuits on analog ICs of a low degree of integration are allowed to perform an attached mounting method, then microprocessor equipment is so difficult to do. Taking into account all these aspects, it is necessary to analyze everything beforehand before starting to work with such a device as the development board.
