Tablet Wexler TAB 7I: a review, specifications, reviews

Wexler Tab 7I is the brainchild of a well-known Russian manufacturer of specialized computer equipment and digital electronics. This model is available in several modifications, while it should be noted that the device on 16 GB + 3G was initially available exclusively for pre-order.

In all devices of this series there is an IPS-LCD-matrix, whose resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels, as well as 1 GB of internal memory. As the basis of the Wexler Tab 7I, the Rockchip RK2918 chipset was used, in which there is a full-fledged single-core Cortex A8 processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz.

Design

The device is characterized by a rectangular shape having rounded lateral ends. Developing the design of the case Wexler Tab 7I, the developers tried to make the upper part visually embedded in the lower, so that at the top and bottom formed small side. The back side, which is close to the left and right side, slightly bends. In this case, the Wexler Tab 7I itself is offered in two colors - black and white.

Dimensions

Given the seven-inch diagonal of the screen, in itself it is large enough and has dimensions of 200 x 119, while its thickness reaches 15 mm. The weight of this device is 380 grams, which can be called a very, very good result, because people who have a tablet Wexler Tab 7I, the reviews in this regard were rather flattering, saying that even during the use of the device in the hands will not be There is no weight and increased thickness.

Housing

A certain part of the front panel, as well as side faces are made of specialized reliable plastic, while the rear panel is a glossy plastic, which is why it is slippery enough. Of course, in the process of working, fingerprints will remain on the whole body, and they are quite noticeable, but at the same time the traces are erased extremely easily. The only thing noted by users of Wexler Tab 7I 3G is that every time you use the device, all traces appear again and again, so you have to take care of it carefully. In addition to everything else, all sorts of scratches can appear during the operation of this tablet.

Control

On the front panel is a small indicator light, showing the status of the battery, as well as the front camera. The key for adjusting the volume is somewhat recessed into the case, and on the upper end you can see the on / off button of this device. Immediately it is worth to say that, according to most users, this arrangement of buttons is inconvenient, since it is not possible to instantly find the right button the first time. Also, do not forget that the signatures are not placed directly on the buttons, but on the side.

On the left and right ends of the Wexler Tab 7I 8Gb there are slots in which the speakers are installed. The main elements are located from the bottom - it's a slot for an additional microSD card, a separate port for connecting USB, a microphone, a miniHDMI connector, and a standard audio output of 3.5 mm. Thus, this device can interact with almost any modern equipment, which can be called its undoubted advantage. Also worth noting that this is the part of the Wexler Tab 7I reset-button.

Display

A special attention of users is paid to a widescreen display with a 16: 9 aspect ratio.

In the Wexler Tab 7I 3G 8Gb diagonal screen is 7 inches; Physical size 154 x 89 mm; Resolution - 1024 x 600 pixels. The image on this device looks almost always very clearly, and it is impossible to see with a naked eye any pixelization. The matrix is made using a specialized IPS-LCD technology, so that about 16 million colors can be seen on the display. It is worth noting separately the capacitive touch layer, which provides for five simultaneous touches. According to observations of users, the sensitivity of the display to touch is average.

The screen differs from most similar models with sufficiently large viewing angles. Thus, with a strong slope, the contrast and brightness decrease somewhat, but this is not critical, and, in principle, you can easily view the images.

The downside of this device is that it lacks a dedicated light sensor. In the settings, if necessary, you can set the "sleep mode", that is, set the time through which this mode will be transferred to the device in case of inactivity of the user. In addition, it is also possible to change the font size. According to users' feedback and the opinion of some experts, the most optimal is to use a large font, since it will be the most suitable for the resolution, as well as the diagonal of the display.

Battery

As is standard in modern tablets, there is initially a non-removable lithium-polymer battery, whose capacity is 4500 mAh. This device provides for specialized protection, excluding the possibility of recharging or overheating, which is important enough for the operation of such equipment. The manufacturer says that during the video viewing the battery can work for eight hours, if in parallel will not work Wi-Fi, and with constant reading it can be discharged after 10 hours of active use. Of course, it is likely that the testing of this device was carried out with the minimum possible brightness of the backlight and other parameters, because in reality users noted absolutely different indicators.

Indicators in practice

In particular, when the firmware was not installed in the Wexler Tab 7I, when the video was viewed continuously, the battery would sit for three hours, and this despite the fact that the speaker was not used in principle, and the sound was outputted to the headphones. If you just play music in this device, and again, use only headphones, you can not worry about its performance for more than 20 hours.

With high volume and brightness, you can play on the tablet for a maximum of half an hour. At the same time, Internet surfing via Wi-Fi can only be carried out for five hours, after which the device is completely discharged. Thus, we can say that with normal use of the device the initial charge of the battery will last no more than five hours. Such power consumption is far from the highest, but the results are quite acceptable for a device of this class.

Memory

In the device there is standard 1 GB of RAM, but by default the user is only about 570 MB. From time to time such a volume may not be enough to run certain applications, because quite often the device starts to unload applications from memory.

To store the information necessary for the user, standard flash memory is provided, the volume of which is 8 GB, while the settings say that 500 MB is allocated for installing various memory applications, while for storage of additional data it is 5.8 GB. There is a slot for installing an additional microSDHC card, the maximum possible size of which can reach 32 GB.

Camera

In this tablet, two camera modules are provided simultaneously, while the main one is designed for 2 MP, while the front camera has only 0.3 MP at all. Given that in none of the cameras there is focus, this can be called the most important disadvantage of this device. The quality of even the main camera is mediocre and seriously loses to similar devices in its price category.

The only thing that users note is that, in principle, even with such a front camera, you can communicate quite well through Skype.

Performance

The graphics accelerator here is used by the GC800 Graphics Engine, which is unusual for modern users. Immediately worth noting is the fact that this device showed itself to be rather weak, and immediately after testing on such games as Nova 3, showed its weaknesses. Of course, games of this class can be run, but normal textures are unlikely to be seen, and in some cases you'll have to use the Wexler Tab 7I Hard reset. A slightly less sad situation is not with such demanding games, but again, if there is a sufficiently large number of units in the game, the number of frames per second can drop noticeably.

In general and in general, in its price category, this tablet can be called satisfactory in terms of performance, since similar devices do not differ by any technological breakthroughs in this regard.

Apps

You can install applications directly from the Android Market, which is enough to download, so that you have an initially registered Google account. If you decide to download programs from the network directly to the device's memory, then it is recommended that you also install a utility such as AppInstaller. By default, there is also a standard set from Google and certain additional applications, such as EBookDroid, Gismeteo and others.

To surf the pages initially there is a browser Android 4.0. Given the features of the processor, it is also possible to work with Flash. Despite the rather powerful graphics engines, as well as the presence of not the weakest processor, the browser can slow down a little while working with certain sites.

A special attention of users is paid not to the best work of multitouch, as the scale of the page increases by jerks. Most likely, the reason for this is the chipset used, but in any case, users will have to accept this small disadvantage.
