Solid Boilers for Long-Term Combustion

In the conditions of constant growth of prices for traditional energy carriers, the use of alternative energy sources is becoming increasingly popular . One of the most popular and long-term options for alternative energy supply is solid fuel: wood, coal, wood waste, straw. But to achieve high efficiency and economy from the use of these resources can only be provided that the correct equipment for processing is applied. Modern solid fuel boilers with innovative methods of combustion are coping well with this task.

There are several types of solid fuel boilers: traditional solid fuel, pyrolysis or gas generator boilers and long burning boilers. At the last kind we will stop in detail and try to find out the reasons for their constantly growing popularity.

The main advantage of this type of boilers, as the name suggests, is the period of operation on a single fuel load. Some models are even able to work continuously for up to five days without human intervention. Such a result is achieved by applying a new method of burning fuel - upper combustion, the principle of which is quite simple. It can also be checked at home by burning a sheet of paper in an upright position. If you keep the sheet of flame down, it will burn out much faster than if you turn it over. This method provides more efficient and lasting combustion.

Having carried out simple calculations using the technical characteristics of long-life boilers, we will see that, in terms of efficiency, such boilers are in many respects superior to traditional solid-fuel boilers. But do not forget about saving time and energy for caring for a solid fuel boiler. After all, the design features of long-burning boilers allow not only to less often lay fuel but also to reduce maintenance costs. According to the technical documentation, the cleaning process of the boiler can be carried out once or twice during the heating season.

Structurally, long-burning boilers can be made in several variants, cylindrical or parallelepiped. Both options have certain advantages: a moving air distributor or a multi-pass heat exchanger.

Thus, having considered the principle of operation and the main technical characteristics of long-life boilers, one can confidently assert their efficiency and economy. And this, in turn, ensures high popularity among the population.
