Smokers' lungs are the most vulnerable organ

Breathing is a process we do not notice, but we can not do without it. Healthy lungs easily provide the inflow of oxygen necessary for the life of the organism, causing its endurance and activity. Lungs of a smoker with experience (from several months) work with difficulty and become vulnerable to serious diseases.

The long term of smoking and the number of cigarettes smoked per day aggravate the disastrous effect. The lungs are covered with poisonous tar, soot, heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium) accumulate inside them, which mix with the liquid of the alveolar mucosa and acquire the consistency of molten lead. With each cigarette in the human body penetrates about 4000 harmful substances, most of which are carcinogenic.

Pictures of light smokers with a long history can plunge an unprepared person into shock, as a healthy human body turns into something lifeless, unnaturally shiny, dark gray color, entirely covered with black dots.

Each subsequent tightening exposes the smoker's lungs to severe stress. Constant irritation with toxic smoke leads to increased production of thick mucus that clogs the bronchi. Pulmonary tissues lose elasticity, ventilation is disrupted, which changes the normal course of breathing, dyspnoea appears. Not coping with the resin settling on the mucous, the body connects the protective system in the form of a cough. In this way, he tries to get rid of harmful substances, but self-protection decreases with each year of smoking.

The most common diseases of smokers (bronchitis, inflammation and emphysema) become chronic. The x-ray of the lungs smoker demonstrates the changes in them. Unfortunately, this diagnosis is not always accurate.

Until recently, doctors were confident that X-rays were a reliable method to examine the lungs of a smoker for a cancerous tumor. Now scientists of many countries have come to the conclusion that the early stages of the disease are not visible, as evidenced by an increase in the death rate of smokers. To clarify the diagnosis, a computed tomography or bronchoscopy is performed.

Since chronic diseases severely undermine health, smoking people need to periodically cleanse the lungs. As such therapy, doctors recommend a plentiful warm drink in combination with mucolytic drugs that help the mucus to escape. A similar effect is provided by herbal preparations with the contents of elecampane, stepmother, lemon and licorice. They can be taken in the form of broths or do with them inhalation.

An excellent effect gives the use of garlic, horseradish or ginger right after smoking. The substances contained in them dissolve the harmful mucus and remove it from the body. To enhance lung function, one can do respiratory gymnastics, which improves their ventilation and blood circulation.

But the best way to clear the lungs of a smoker is to quit "smoke." In this case, a natural cleansing of the body takes place for several months through coughing and mucus separation. Then the respiratory system returns to normal.
