In the 16th century a small village of Sadovniki appeared on the outskirts of Moscow. Judging by the name, we can assume what kind of profession people were in the main population. The people living there took care of the royal gardens and did everything for the beauty and comfort of the park areas.

"Gardeners" in the historical past

Gradually the territory of the village changed before our eyes. Here, flowers were planted, places were set up for rest and planted trees. It was planned that there will be a place for rest of noble masters. But gradually on this place began to grow and fruit trees.

In the XVIII century the park "Gardeners" numbered more than 1000 different fruit trees. This place became a favorite for the walks of Catherine the Great, Peter II, Anna Ioannovna. In addition to orchards, the "Gardeners" park was used to grow cattle. Also people broke vegetable gardens and planted vegetable crops.

At the time of modern archaeological research, oak barrels were found in the park. As historians say, many local residents were engaged in the cabbage souring. All the preparations in the form of jam, sauerkraut were delivered to the royal table. Much went on sale.

It is interesting! Near the Sadovnikov the Grand Duke Dmitri himself stayed, when he returned from the Kulikovo field.
