NZXT computer case: overview, description, reviews

When a user is going to build a personal computer on his own, he usually pays a lot of time to the component. Carefully studying video cards, trying to find a balance between price and performance, looking for a processor that could cope with all tasks. He tries to find a good motherboard for all that would not only take all the purchased, but also potentially would be able to place future "upgrades" on himself.

So the user, having bought all the necessary devices, having collected the system, faces two problems: either he has nowhere to put this entire platform, or his case is not as capacious as one would like.

What to do?

In order to avoid such situations, it is worthwhile to think about everything to the smallest detail. The "box" for the PC is as important as everything that it will be in it. The case is such a thing, which is still forgotten, as well as about a high-quality power supply. But a careful approach to the container will not only avoid problems with installation, but will also open new opportunities and make the system work easier.

About company

Today we should pay attention to the case NZXT. But first a few words about the company. It is a young company that has been working since 2004. It was created in America and is based now in Los Angeles (California). The company is considered the best in its segment and is an excellent young manufacturer of cases, components and accessories for gaming PCs.

If someone heard about the company's products, then it may be the case for the PC. NZXT is known for models created in combination with the Razer H440 and S340, as well as the phantom Phantom model. We will consider them today.

New

System units running NZXT and Razer are intriguing. Both models came out simultaneously, so it makes no sense to separate them: who is first, who is second, who is better, and who is worse. So let's start with the NZXT H440. The case was delivered in a large box, which goes without saying. It is black with green graphic elements, which immediately reminds us of the partner of the manufacturer, the company Razer.

Design H440

The appearance justifies itself - the case of the NZXT H440 looks stylish and original.

It is interesting that the designers decided not to experiment this time with some unusual shapes and planes. This option, on the contrary, is "prosaic", but it does not get any worse. Usually from the American manufacturer there was a massive plastic base on which the metal sheet was fastened. Now the front and top panels are made of metal, which is covered with soft-touch coating. It is very nice to touch, so many are hard to break away from their new pet. The front panel is solid, but that it does not look sad, the middle of the immodestly flaunts the Razer logo. External ports, which are often found on the front panel, this time went to the top and settled on the front edge, which is quite convenient. On the left is a large matte button on the switch, which, by the way, was not identified with anything. And over it barely noticeable "button" reboot. From left to right shifted to the right end are two connectors for headphones and a microphone, also highlighted the green ports of USB 3.0, and next to it another pair of USB 2.0.

Despite the fact that no ventilation is observed on the top panel, it is actually quite close: on the left and the back edge of the lid. This arrangement of the grating is associated with the desire to reduce the noise from the system. The left end face is occupied by a small window that stands out from the panel monolith. All this is removed and fixed on two cogs. The right end got a monolithic panel, without any windows, but covered with a soundproof layer.

LED tape hid on the bottom of the system unit. In the off state they are white, and in the switched on they are green. Immediately visible fastenings for the drive. The legs made large and rubberized.

Inside H440

The case of NZXT of this model supports motherboards of the form factor ATX, MicroATX and Mini-ITX. The processor cooler can not be more than 12 cm. Expansion boards can not be longer than 30 cm if placed opposite the steel baskets, otherwise the length can be up to 406 mm. Up to three 120 mm fans can be placed in the system.

For the location of the motherboard, you can see a lot of wires, cooler management cards, as well as the functioning of the backlight. In general, the collection of the case does not take much time, everything is clearly written in the instructions, so no questions should arise with this.

Reviews about H440

The similar case NZXT (Razer) could not please fans of the gamer periphery. This sistemnik - an excellent addition to the gaming PC. The chassis has collected many positive reviews. We praised everything that is possible: from the materials of the case, to the placement of all the holes, and, of course, the presence of illumination.

Model S340

The following model became even more interesting from the point of view of appearance. Packaging and packaging are the same as those of the previous model, but the exterior is somewhat different. The austerity and laconism of the model is indicated by the front panel, freed from all unnecessary details. In the middle, only the familiar logo of the "green" company.

The ports also remained on the hull, but changed their number and location a little. The power button moved to the lower right corner, next to it are the illuminated USB 2.0 ports, then the headphone and microphone connectors and a small button for rebooting the system. Interestingly, in front of these slots is a large connector in the body - a cutout, through which the air circulates inside the system.

The details on the lid did not end there. From above, a ventilation grille is visible , through which you can see a fan of 120 or 140 mm. NZXT S340 equipped with a strict left side panel, which is represented by a simple metal sheet. The right end is almost the same, but equipped with a smoky window through which you can watch the system.

The back panel also remained standard. The button for turning on the backlight has moved to the middle of the upper part. The ventilation grille is visible, the expansion slots are placed next to another ventilation grille. For the power supply, a special removable panel that helps install the PSU, since this can only be done through the rear end. On the bottom of the case, the green LEDs are again seen.

In general, the system is almost identical with the previous one in the interior and dimensions of the component to be installed. For the cooler, the height has decreased by 2 cm, and the expansion cards can be 364 mm. Inside, you can see the compartment where the power supply is located, as well as one or two removable drives.

Reviews about S340

The case of the NZXT S340 distinguished itself in its appearance. He remains all the same strict, but at the same time is stylish and bright. Users were delighted not only in design, but also in thoughtful internal placement. The model of this chassis belongs to the middle price segment, so it is very difficult to find such models. The only thing that can raise questions is the cooling of the HDD and the absence of vibration isolation.

"Ghostly"

Well, one more no less cool case NZXT - Phantom. This model is not suitable for everyone, as it stands out for its design, which is rather extravagant. True fans of the gaming industry will definitely appreciate this spacecraft. Looks like a robot or a spaceship. Re-echoes with the clone stormtroopers from the movie "Star Wars."

In addition to the white version, red is available, which is no less extravagant, and black is more reserved and ordinary. Dimensions were solid, resembling a tower: the height is almost 55 cm. The front panel is not as boring as in previous models. Not only does it have an uneven surface, but also the white color is diluted in black. And the main surprise lies in the opening "door", under which are black perforated plugs of five-inch compartments.

In general, the appearance of this body NZXT was well, very bizarre and it is difficult to describe in detail, it is better to see the systemist personally, or to revise a couple of reviews before buying. The connectors are on the top panel of the case, here are the headphone, microphone, pair for USB and eSATA. Next to the interesting form of the power button, and on the opposite side is a five-channel reobas. Side panels also received interesting design solutions, thanks to which you can see a pair of fans at 120 mm and one for the motherboard at 200-230 mm. The main advantage, although for some it may seem a disadvantage, is the depth of the system unit. Here, it seems, you can install more than one system. Plenty of space, perfect for installing an additional basket for HDD.

Reviews about Phantom

This body of NZXT reviews got positive. Users praised the quality of performance, the possibility of expansion and scope inside. Also there were no difficulties with the assembly: all the components will fit here, and not in one copy. Negatively responded only to the installation of railway, which is somewhat difficult, as well as the inefficiency of the cooling system compared with similar models of buildings.
