My legs began to swell. The reason is what?

In ordinary life, it is difficult to follow the advice every half hour to raise your legs, nevertheless, periodically change the position of the legs, "disperse blood" is necessary. There are several effective ways, exercises for gastrocnemius muscles: to move from socks to the heels and back several times, stretch the muscles of the shins.

If you have swollen feet, the cause may be in improper diet. The use of salty and acute in large quantities leads to fluid retention and, accordingly, to edema. A salt-free diet and moderate fluid intake help to reduce puffiness in the legs. It is possible to take weak diuretines (diuretics), but only after consulting a doctor. Moreover, some products can perfectly replace drugs. Diuretic effect is possessed by garlic, cucumbers, cabbage, apples, watermelons.
It is very useful for beauty, leg health to walk three or five kilometers a day and climb the stairs. As preventive measures against edema and pain in the legs, you can consider swimming and aqua aerobics.
If by the end of the day you have swollen feet, the reason for this, as it turns out, can be either. It is possible to get rid of edema and pain with folk remedies. Well before going to bed make warm foot baths from broth chamomile, sage, horsetail: 100 grams of dry herbs boil in a liter of water, insist half an hour, filter. The infusion is diluted in four liters of water. Rubbing with ice, light foot massage, rubbing with olive oil and salt (one teaspoon of salt dissolve in a glass of oil) reduces swelling and a feeling of heaviness. The same action has external drugs, various ointments and gels. But their impact is, rather, preventive.
Prevention is necessary, and it is always better than treatment. But if every evening you notice that your legs are swollen, the cause may lie in the problem with the heart, kidneys, liver. Diseases of the veins: varicose veins of the subcutaneous veins, thrombophlebitis, phlebothrombosis - can cause swelling. Systematic, constant and strong swelling of the legs is a symptom of serious disorders in the lymphatic system. In any case, a qualified medical consultation is needed, and maybe not just one: only after a thorough examination, a study of the results of the tests can accurately diagnose and prescribe the treatment.
