Heroism displayed by students during WWII

In August 1941, the soldiers of the two formations were able to detain under the Krasnogvardeysky, the present Gatchina, three German tank divisions on their way to Leningrad. Members of the "New-Peterhof VPU of Frontier and Internal Troops of the NKVD" gave their lives for this. Those few teachers and cadets of the educational institution, who were able to stay alive, continuously defended the city for about two months. The further destiny

The future Border Guard Institute of the Russian FSB was moved to the city of Saratov in the 1940s. There continued the training of political workers and officers for the NKVD in the post-war period. In the fifties of the last century the school was disbanded by order of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the late 60's, the country's leadership signed a special order. Thus, the Higher Border VPU was created. It was for him that a military town and educational buildings were built near Moscow. In April 1972, the institution was renamed the Higher Border Military-Political Red Banner School of the KGB. In the 90s the university was reorganized. So the Frontier Institute of the FSB of Russia began its existence. Later he was given the official name. The institution became known as the Golitsyn Border Institute of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

The Frontier Institute of the Federal Security Service of Russia is one of the oldest institutions of the country in military disciplines. A few years ago he celebrated his 80th birthday. Conditions for admission

They must have a level of education not lower than the full average. These applicants have to go through competitive selection, physical examination, medical examination in accordance with the established procedure, professional psychological test, entrance tests. In June of this year, preparatory fees are available. They last for one month. Their purpose is to prepare candidates for all forms of training, which are contractual military service or on call, to the admission tests. Special units of the Federal Security Council are responsible for selecting and sending participants to the university in accordance with all requirements for the admission of candidates.

The university was founded by the order of the government of the Russian Federation at the end of 2003. Now it is considered to be the only border training institution between Khabarovsk and Moscow, and also the only military institute in the entire Trans-Ural region.
