Men's sizes: how to choose clothes

Strong sex is subject to fashion trends no less than weak. Men also want to look good and dress stylishly. But sometimes shopping trips turn for them into real torture. A common reason for this is the need to re-measure a bunch of things in search of a suitable model. You can simplify the task if you know the size of a man's clothes. This will help in self-search for things and in communicating with the seller-consultant, significantly limiting the amount of clothes in the dressing room.

So, how do you know your clothing size ? Male clothes in shops are many, the size of each species is determined by different parameters. Therefore, going shopping, it will be superfluous to arm with a centimeter tape and measure the circumference of the waist, hips, neck, chest and, of course, growth. With the growth and girth of the neck, as a rule, there are no problems, so we'll take a closer look at the remaining male sizes.

Measuring the waist, you must strictly adhere to its line, not trying to flatter yourself, find a narrower place or excessively draw in your stomach.

Hips are measured at the most prominent points of the buttocks.

Similarly, the measurement of the chest girth is carried out : the measurement line passes along the nipples, axillary cavities, slightly rising on the back.

Now, about why you need specific men's sizes. The neck circumference determines the size of the shirt. Sometimes you can find classic shirts that also take into account the growth parameter: small, standard, large.

Men's sizes of jumpers, coats, jackets are determined by the girth of the chest. To find out what number to look for on the tag, you need to divide the number obtained as a result of the measurement into two. This is the size you want. For example, with a chest circumference of 104 centimeters, you can talk about fifty-second size (104: 2 = 52). On the tags of jackets and coats, in addition to the chest girth, growth is also indicated. Therefore, a young man with a height of 185 centimeters and a chest 104 centimeters should look for a coat with a size of 52/185.

The size of trousers is also determined by two numbers. One of them means growth, and the second - half-hip of the thighs. It is measured in the same way as the semi-chest in the previous example. That is, at the circumference of the thighs 112 centimeters it is a question of 56 size. Adding to this the growth of 190 centimeters, we get the size 56/190.

A little different with jeans. Here the role is played by the girth of the waist and the length of the inner seam of the trousers. It is determined by the distance from the middle seam to the bottom of the leg. But there is one small nuance: the sizes of jeans are defined in inches. Recall that one inch is equal to 2.54 centimeters. So, in order not to get confused in the notation on the label, you need to multiply the number there by 2.54. Then we will get our waist circumference. For example, when we find jeans with a size of 32/34 on the shelf, we translate inches into centimeters and get a waist 81, length of the inner seam 86.

Allowable fluctuations in size by 1 - 1.5 centimeters in both directions. That is, the size 32/34 is not a strict 81/86, but 79-82 / 86-89. If such measurements are too complicated or if some of the parameters are unknown, then the task can be simplified. However, for this you need to know your usual trouser size. From this number, subtract 16 and get the required number on the label with jeans. For example, at the usual fiftieth size, we perform operation 50-16. We get 34. It is these jeans that are required.
