The life of this actor was bright, like the flight of a meteor, and, unfortunately, almost as short. Soviet filmgoers of the eighties, he immediately remembered: swift, lean, with a piercing look and expressive predatory face. After the "Crew" in the short list of domestic sex-symbols there was one more name - Leonid Filatov. His filmography at that time already numbered half a dozen works, but after the first Soviet film-catastrophe, bright, with an unreal plot, but quite alive characters, the artist became famous. And yet work in real art was ahead.

Kazan-Ashgabat

The boy, born in Kazan in 1946, had happiness, rare in the postwar years - a front-line father. The maiden name of his mother was the same as that of the pope, they are both Filatovs. This coincidence is explained simply: during the war, the girls corresponded with unfamiliar soldiers of the Red Army, and when the "collective" was assigned to the labor collective, she chose her own namesake. After the Victory, the young people met personally and liked each other, which resulted in the birth of their son, Filatov Leonid. Biography of the future actor is associated with two cities: Kazan, where he was born, and Ashgabat, where he spent almost all early childhood. After seven years, the family, unfortunately, broke up, my mother took Lyonya to Penza, but later the young man returned to Ashgabat. At the age of fifteen, he showed his literary talent by writing a fable published in "Komsomolets of Turkmenistan." Interest in art in Leonid was, as they say, in the blood. Later, in his mature years, he said that he did not dream of being an actor, just became it, because he had not seen other ways to prove himself. Filatov, too, did not see himself as a professional writer either, nor as a director. Something in his life has not come true, perhaps, something unique, which has not been hitherto. At the same time in all the hypostases he managed to do something outstanding, showing an extraordinary talent. In the meantime, there was a search. After high school in 1965, Leonid Filatov went to Moscow, intending to enter VGIK to become a director. This plan did not succeed, to participate in the contest it was necessary to have an explication and a layout, and the applicant did not know about it (it is possible that at that moment he did not even know what it was). In addition, the deadline for the submission of documents came out, and I had to go to the "Pike" (Shchukin College), which was also not easy, but it was successful. The course was conducted by LN Shikhmatov and VK Lvov, Ruslanova, Kaidanovskiy and Dykhovichny became fellow students.

Student life seemed like a carefree adventure, a roommate in the hostel Vova Kachan turned out to be a talented musician, and friends indulged in making funny hooligan songs, very popular among friends (about an orange cat, for example, or drunk gypsies). However, there were other pranks that seemed harmless, but one of them was not without consequences. Friends tied the door handles that were on opposite sides of the corridor on the female floor of the hostel (they, of course, opened into the rooms), and then knocked on them. To the delight of the jokers, a terrible squeal arose, and everything would have been done, except for the fact that one of the students who had been subjected to the drawing was a foreigner (from Bulgaria) who was also in a position called for some reason "interesting." Someone "knocked", as a result, listeners Boris Galkin, Vladimir Kachan and Leonid Filatov lost their cheap housing. They had to rent an apartment on Herzen, it was expensive, but here it was definitely impossible for them to interfere.

There were pranks in which the talent of the writer was guessed. Rector Boris Zakhava himself believed that the play presented to him by the students was written by Arthur Miller, and even approved their successful choice. When it turned out that it was not true, and the author - Leonid Filatov, he could not hide his grievances for being so cleverly held. In general, to sign their works with exotic names (La Bisch, Cesare Javatini, etc.) was peculiar to a young actor who tried the pen. From 1985 to 1987, Leonid Filatov served in the "Contemporary" Galina Volchek. Yury Lyubimov had a conflict with the authorities, he was deprived of Soviet citizenship, the director of the Taganka Theater appointed Efros, whom the troupe disliked, it is quite possible that undeservedly. The conflict between the collective and the leader was extremely aggressive, Filatov also took part in it, although not as actively as many other actors. Nevertheless, he left the theater. When Lyubimov returned, Efros had already died, and Filatov was the only one who repented of persecuting this quite good person. Then the theater split again, he was offered to lead the "troupe in exile", which received the name "Commonwealth of Taganka Actors", but the actor refused.
