Biography

Jazzmen was born in 1960 in Ukraine, in the city of Kharkov. Daniil Kramer, whose family has nothing to do with art, began to attend music lessons in parallel with the school. However, the true abilities of the young pianist, who was given the solfeggio and piano lessons only for general development, soon made themselves felt. Already at the age of fifteen, Kramer Daniil became a laureate of the republican contest, not only as a pianist who received the first prize, but also as a composer who won the second place. Gradually, he is increasingly drawn into the world of music and soon does not imagine himself without her. The young man, deciding to continue his education, enters the Moscow Gnessin Academy, specializing in "Pianist of the Academic Direction." And his teacher was Professor E. Lieberman himself.

In the new role

In parallel, Kramer Daniel began to seriously engage in jazz music. Soon he was noticed. In 1982, the young musician became a laureate of the contest of jazz pianos improvisators in Lithuania and received the first prize.

In the years 1985-1986. Kramer Daniil Borisovich, being a soloist of Mosconcert and the State Philharmonic Society, takes part in almost all domestic jazz festivals. He constantly tours the countries of Europe, performing concerts in Austria and Hungary, Germany, Italy. He is known in Spain, Poland, Finland, France, the USA and Sweden. After graduating from the academy in 1983, Kramer remained there to train young people. From there, he moves to the jazz department of the School. But the decisive event in his life was a concert of Leonid Chizhik. It was here that Kramer heard the "live" improvisational jazz for the first time.

Concert activity

At numerous solo concerts the pianist performs music of different directions. It can be traditional classical jazz, different kinds of modern music. For some time, the so-called direction "The Third Current" took a special place in his work. Third stream is an organic combination of jazz and modern academic music.

Since the mid-nineties of the last century, Kramer began to organize concert cycles. The pianist called them "Jazz music in academic rooms." They passed with great success not only in the capital, but also in other Russian cities. "Evenings with Daniel Kramer", "Classics and Jazz" - these cycles collected huge audiences in the Grand and Small Halls of the State Conservatory, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Central House of Artists, and so on.

Tour activity

Today Daniil Borisovich Kramer works as an art director of Russian festivals. He is in charge of the pop and jazz department of the Institute of Contemporary Art in the capital. It was they who realized the idea of introducing concert subscriptions in most philharmonic halls of Russian cities. This idea was appreciated by numerous jazz lovers.

Daniel Cramer has very intensive touring abroad.
