Despite all our multifaceted knowledge of hygiene, flea bites are a "curse" of a large part of humanity. And we are not talking about the "elite" part of a society like the Homeless. Even those people who closely monitor the cleanliness of their homes and take a shower every day can become victims of fleas.

Do fleas bite people? This question can confound the ignorant people in this matter, and they will begin to build assumptions: yes, perhaps / no, they bite only animals, etc. But those who are "lucky" to learn the answer on their own skin, most likely, will be outraged and with contempt (regret) they will answer: "YES, bite, and bite very, very painfully!".

Well, fleas are blood-sucking insects who choose their animals and human victims. At risk, above all, there are young children and family members who have pets. In addition, residents of old multi-storey houses are subject to this scourge , where the cellars are in terrible condition. The trouble is that it is quite difficult to remove the fleas, and the probability of a recurring attack is very high.

Flea bites are quite painful for a person, especially for any creatures the waist, ankle, armpit, inner sides of elbows and knees. They do not have wings, but they have the ability to jump quite for decent (for them) distances.

In addition to the discomfort that fleas inflict on their victims, there is a danger of catching some kind of infection. For example, in the old wet basement, where there is no one except rats, fleas attack tailed rodents. But if a person enters a danger zone, the fleas immediately secretly announce the arrival of food and attack you as they once attacked rats. Those, in turn, are carriers of various infectious diseases, which can pass to you from assiduous bloodsuckers as a "gift". In addition, the saliva of fleas contains enzymes that can cause the victim to have an allergic reaction.

That's interesting: not all people are attacked by fleas. The family members living in one apartment can be divided into two camps: those who for some reason fleas prefer not to touch, and those whom they choose as victims. That's really not lucky! They will constantly jerk, feeling the next bite, scratching the affected place, bringing your body to exhaustion, waking up at night - in a word, one should forget about a comfortable life. Probably, it's all about the sensitivity of the skin. Flea sense of smell is a unique thing, so if you have tender thin skin (like a child), then you are a real yummy for fleas, and your thick-skinned husband is in case the access to the yummy is blocked for some reason.

Feeling their sacrifice, they jump on a man, arrange themselves comfortably, gnaw through the skin with their jaws and secrete saliva, which contains enzymes and anticoagulants, and enjoy the blood sucked from you. Anticoagulants do not allow blood to clot, which allows fleas to suck blood.

How do flea bites look?

The bite is a red patch with a rim that can glow on the skin for several hours. In some people, flea bites can cause allergies, severe itching or turn into a tumor of considerable size. Especially sensitive to flea bites are young children, their reactions are manifested much more often than in adults. The lower limbs are most often affected.

At first glance, the amusing confrontation between a man of the 21st century and an ancient insect is in fact a serious problem. The bites of fleas lead a person literally to the state of hysteria, but this is only part of the problem. Getting rid of them is extremely difficult. Hygiene of the room is not enough: these creatures multiply too fast. Feeling that they were in the "paradise" for fleas, they will try to do everything possible to stay here as long as possible.

We'll have to clean up the apartment most thoroughly, paying special attention to cracks in the floor, skirting boards, furniture and wall contact area, carpets, soft toys and, of course, hygiene of pets that could bring infestation into the house. You can not do without the disinfection service, which will have to be called repeatedly (at the first visit, they will destroy the insects themselves, but a few days later a new batch of fleas will appear from the larvae, on which disinfection does not work).

In the people venerated wormwood as a means to deter these creatures. The smell of wormwood negatively affects the fleas (unless they are flea mutants), and they are removed back home. It is enough to lay out the twigs of the plant on the floor and wash the fields with decoction of wormwood and household soap, you can use essential oil of wormwood, if, of course, you can carry the wormwood smell yourself.
