Industrial Steam Generator: Experience of Use

Even under the USSR, our industry produced concrete mixing plants (BSU), mortar units (RBU), industrial steam generators and air-heating plants. Steam generators were used for heating inert materials, air heating units in agriculture and for heating industrial premises.

After the collapse of the USSR , new technologies began to appear in Russia. So the German industry began to supply us concrete mixing plants (BSU) complete with air-heating plants for heating inert materials.

In Moscow, Zhukovsky, Podolsk, Arkhangelsk and in other cities of Russia were installed BSU (ELBA) with the heating of inert materials by air-heating plants. However, already in the first winter it was possible to make sure that the heating of inert materials with heated air is effective only at an ambient temperature of at least -5 º C, and at temperatures below -10 º C it is not able to heat inert materials, therefore all plants had an additional Installed industrial steam generators.

Selection of industrial steam generators was carried out depending on the capacity of the BSU, RBU and the volume of bunkers. In factories with capacity from 20 m³ / h to 60 m³ / h, block boiler houses (mobile steam generators) of MKDZh-900 with a capacity of 800-1000 kg of steam per hour were installed.

In Kirov, Arkhangelsk, and St. Petersburg, mobile steam generators MCPF-900 with hot water supply (DHW) with a capacity not exceeding 1000 kg of steam per hour were installed at 120 m3 / h plants, and a hot-water steam boiler RTQ-250 was installed for hot water. Many years of experience in the operation of industrial steam generators at the BSU and RBU confirm the correctness of the solutions described above, taking into account the rather severe climatic conditions in which they were used, as well as production loads.

The industrial steam generator can be installed both in the capital buildings and in block design. The advantage of mobile block steam generators is that the installation, and if necessary dismantling, takes only a few hours. The industrial steam generator (block boiler room) can be transported by vehicles of almost any category, the carrying capacity of which allows it to be done. The chimney in mobile steam generators of all kinds is collapsible, so the assembly and dismantling of the chimney takes very little time - within an hour. They can be operated in any places with access to electricity or central gas supply. However, even in case of problematic access to sources of uninterrupted supply of energy resources, for example in the field, these problems are solved by installing burners operating on solid fuel: wood, sawdust, briquettes, coal. An alternative source of energy can also be a diesel generator.
