If Google Chrome does not open the page

Among various programs for viewing pages on the Internet, more commonly known as browsers, one of the most common is Google Chrome (Google Chrome). First appeared in 2008, by now this browser has become so popular that it partially eclipses even old-timers like Opera and Firefox.

The reason for this is a balanced internal implementation of the program code. Everyone knows that you should not reinvent the wheel, because nothing good from this usually does not work. But the attempt to refine the existing invention by carefully studying the features of his work and optimizing them, as a rule, gives excellent results. This is fully true for Chrome: the gentlemen from Google carefully studied the wishes of users of existing at that time browsers and released their own software product, eliminating potential weaknesses. They succeeded, and the browser turned out to be simply magnificent. There are still some shortcomings, but they are rather specific, which are ignored by most users. For example, it is completely unclear why there is no built-in ability to save pages in chm and mht formats or why there are so many open connections with a simple query. But, as already mentioned, this does not detract from the merits of Chrome, among which we should especially note the record-breaking speed and the small amount of memory used.

Despite this, the forums often ask why Google Chrome does not open the page. Problems with opening pages periodically can occur when using any browser, but the feature of Google Chrome is that in it the reason is not so obvious, and the information system does not always give the correct (and, most importantly, understandable) answer.

In fact, the answer to the question of why Chrome does not open the page is pretty simple. The reasons for this behavior in a good browser is very small. Let us consider them in more detail.

If Chrome does not open the page, then, first of all, you need to check the connection to the Internet. When it disappears, the browser will honestly tell the user about the cause and the questions will disappear. But sometimes the connection itself remains set (automatic reconnection does not happen, and the network icon is active), however, the exchange of data packets with the provider's server is violated. This is often the case for users of wireless networks. As a result, Chrome does not open the page. The solution is simple: independently reconnect the Internet (interrupt the connection and reconnect again).

No less common is the problem of traffic blocking by anti-virus programs. Some complex security systems work in interactive mode (Dr.Web Space and Avira Security Suite) and often ask the user about assigning a certain rule to applications trying to access the network. Beginners who do not want to delve into the essence of the dialogue, can prohibit access for all programs or, at the other extreme, resolve all actions. As a result, Chrome does not open the page because it is not allowed to access the Internet. It is better for beginners to use automatic antiviruses (Kaspersky, GCD) or carefully read dialog box messages.

Unlike other browsers, Google Chrome uses proxy system settings the same as Internet Explorer. Invalid proxy settings - and Chrome does not open the page. Having launched the settings in Explorer, you should go to "Connections - Network settings" and check the status of the proxy. In most cases, it's enough to set the automatic mode. Exception: a proxy is needed for normal operation. In this case, you need to use the help of the system administrator.

Also, there may be a problem with flash technologies. To solve the problem, you can try to update the Shockwave Flash application from the adobe website.
