Hypertrophy of the left ventricle: signs and treatment

In the wild rhythm of everyday life, we often do not pay attention to the danger signals that our body gives us. Alas, this sometimes leads to the fact that instead of a minor outpatient treatment, we get to a hospital, and sometimes it's because of inattention to their health that the life of very young people breaks off.

Listen to your body. Do you get worried about heart palpitations? Whether there was a dyspnea or short wind? Did not you faint? If these signs are present, it's time to turn to the doctor: there is a possibility that the left ventricular hypertrophy makes itself felt. This disease occurs quite often, and in most cases - among young people. The danger of this disease is that it often leads to sudden death. Statistics say that about 4% of patients suffering from this disease die.

So, what is hypertrophy of the left ventricle? With this disease, the wall of the left ventricle becomes denser. And the internal space remains the same. It happens that the septicemia between the right and left ventricles is compressed in those suffering from this disease. Sealing results in the wall becoming insufficiently elastic.

Depending on whether the septum is evenly sealed or only in certain areas, the symptoms and consequences of the disease appear. In the case of uneven compaction of the septum, the aortic and mitral valvular heart activity is disrupted, however, the valve function does not always suffer.

If the myocardium is compacted only at the apex, this disease is classified as apical hypertrophy of the left ventricle. It can also be symmetrical.

Hypertrophy of the left ventricle: symptoms

Unfortunately, the recognition of the symptoms of this truly serious disease is rather difficult. Very many people have this disease, not even suspecting that they are constantly under threat. However, in most people who suffer from left ventricular hypertrophy, there are various types and intensities of pain in the region of the heart, as well as angina. Since the vessels through which the heart muscle receives nutrition contract, and the muscle itself becomes larger and, accordingly, requires more nutrition, then starvation of the myocardium begins to develop.

Often when hypertrophy of the left ventricle arises and arrhythmia, when the heart then almost freezes, it is strongly part. Also as a symptom you can call dyspnea. In rare cases, fainting occurs in this disease.

What causes this disease?

It is well established that hypertrophy of the left ventricle has a hereditary predisposition. If in your family, no matter in which generation, there were cases of this disease or unidentified heart diseases, you should listen more attentively to your health and immediately consult a doctor if you have the above symptoms. Hypertrophy of the left ventricle is a disease that arises from the mutation of genes associated with myocardial cells, the cause of which has not yet been established. It is this mutation that causes the heart muscle to thicken and expand.

Treatment.

The essence of the treatment of this disease is to normalize and improve the work of the myocardium. At first, they try to achieve this by a medicamentous method, however, if success can not be achieved, an operation must be performed. During the operation, the compacted septum is given its natural form.

If hypertrophy of the left ventricle is diagnosed and cured in time, then the person fully lives for many years, and can lead a fairly normal life and even safely endure pregnancy and childbirth. However, hard physical labor should still be avoided.
