How to make a house of bottles with your own hands?

How best to use an empty plastic bottle? Some will remember scoops, vases, holders for mobile phones. But few people will think that you can build houses from plastic bottles.

The author of this incredible project was a German engineer who developed about fifty projects in several countries using ECO-TEC technology. He built a house of bottles, using them instead of bricks. It turned out that if you fill the bottle with earth, then by strength it will not yield to the brick. Building a house of bottles with our own hands, we not only save on construction, but also help maintain the ecology at the proper level.

Are there any advantages to using bottles? What is their advantage compared to other building materials?
First, bottles are of low cost. Secondly, the house of bottles is characterized by increased strength. These improvised "bricks" can withstand very strong blows and loads.

You can use plastic bottles several times. They are easy to use and significantly reduce the consumption of funds for building materials (about their cheapness mentioned above). A house built of bottles can be serviced for about 300 years. What other material can boast of such longevity?

How to build a house of bottles?

To begin with, we collect our building material in huge quantities. Not necessarily all bottles should be the same, it will be better to use different sizes and shapes. Stock up with lots of sand! Now fill all bottles, dropping dry tamped sand in them, close the cork. To make the structure more durable, mix a bit of cement, add clay, sawdust and earth to it, then glue the bottles to each other.

Construction should always begin with columns, which must be at least three. The swarm under the foundation of the pit is about 100 cm in diameter, so that the radius is greater than the diameter of the support (at least 20 cm). Next, we insert the armature under the columns and put the bottles around the armature with stoppers inward. Twine tighten the knot on the neck of the bottles so that the adjacent covers touch each other. Gaps that formed between the bottles, you need to pour a mixture of cement and leave it to settle. To fill the space between bottles, you can use building debris or pieces of bricks.

Once the column is erected, leave it until full shrinkage and plaster. Then we start building the walls. The tactic is the same: the bottles are put on the solution and the necks are tied with twine. Then the walls are plastered.

The roof of this house is alive (from the turf). This is not only a matter of aesthetics. This roof warms better in winter and gives a cool in the summer, and also helps to save energy and save money.

The final stage in the construction of this unusual house is its interior decoration.

The essence of this concept is that the bottles do not have to be buried or burned, thus polluting the nature. Instead, they will be directed to the construction of clean housing. Thus, you, so to speak, combine pleasant and useful. And this is quite interesting and reasonable!
