History of Turkey: from the former Ottoman Empire to the most European Asian country

A brief history of Turkey begins with the time when in the 21st century the tribes of the Turks settled in the Asia Minor area (although the settlers there were still in the Stone Age). At all times, the territory of Turkey was subjected to the development of civilization, which is due to its geographical location, in which even then the embryo of relations between the West and the East appeared.

In the 14th century Osman I founded the Ottoman Empire. As a result, local residents and Turkic tribes began to be called Ottoman Turks. In the same century, in the thirties, the conquest of all other territories of Byzantium took place.

The further history of Turkey was created by the descendants of Osman, it is characterized by seizures of new territories. This period was characterized by a lot of bloody wars for the expansion of the borders of the empire.

The history of Turkey never ceased, therefore already in the middle of the XVI century, during the reign of Suleiman I the Magnificent, the empire reached its peak of development and power. The high education of the Sultan, as well as his constant love of art, renewed the development of literature and architecture in the Ottoman Empire. Subsequently, this period was called the Golden Age of the Empire.

The new history of Turkey originates in the XIX century, when the Ottoman Empire began to lose its influence and began to disintegrate. Suspecting the future division of the country and the loss of independence, Kemal became the head of the nation, and in 23 of the last century became the first president of the Republic of Turkey. Its main concept - rallying the nation and limiting the influence of the conductors of Islam - is still relevant.
