History and description of the car "Mitsubishi Diamant"

The car "Mitsubishi Diamant", a photo of which is presented below, made its debut on the general public in 1989. Then it was designed for both the domestic Japanese market and for export. For the whole history of the model's existence, three generations have descended from the assembly line.

First generation

As already mentioned above, the model was born in 1989. At that time, the car "Mitsubishi Diamant" did not stand out particularly against the background of similar cars. According to the idea of the developers, it was designed for ordinary people, to whom the vehicle was required only for movement in their daily affairs. For fans of country rest Japanese designers foresaw the execution of the model in the body of the "station wagon".

The second generation

Seven years later, the manufacturer decided to update the modification and implement many of the best achievements of the automotive industry at that time. The main innovation in the "Mitsubisi Diamant" in 1996 was the installation of a six-cylinder V-shaped power unit under the hood. The choice of potential buyers offered engines with a volume of 2.5, 3 and 3.5 liters. In addition, the customer was offered two options for the transmission, as well as front or all-wheel drive. As for embodied progressive ideas, the machine acquired the functions of controlling the trajectory of the movement, hydroelectric power, as well as anti-slip. In addition, the developers have equipped the car with a complete combustion system. All this in a complex has allowed to improve the management system.

The third generation

The debut of the third generation of "Mitsubisi Diamant" was held in 2002. Since that moment, the Japanese company has moved the assembly of the model to one of its factories in Australia. Designers slightly changed the appearance of the car. At the same time, the body, roof and doors remained the same. The interior was made in beige and silver color. In addition, the choice of the buyer was offered fabric or leather upholstery for the seats. The standard equipment of the car included four airbags, ABS, a full electric package, air conditioning, traction control and much more. On the car was installed only one version of the engine - V-shaped "six" in volume of 2.5 liters, developing capacity of 170 horsepower. As for the transmission, for the third generation there was a four-speed automatic. An interesting feature of the model was the availability of a direct fuel injection system. Two years later, the designers slightly changed the radiator grille of the car, the design of the bumper and the taillights. In addition, they have updated the central console and the front panel. In November 2005, the model was removed from the assembly line.

Overall Impression

The exterior and interior design of the car deserves separate words. All the interior elements are well thought out, dimensional and weighty. Seats, headrests and armrests can be called quite comfortable. The instrument panel is made in silver and red. Almost the only drawback in the interior of the car, many of its owners consider not very large space between the rear and front seats.

The engine volume of 2.5 liters, it would seem, should suffice to ensure the necessary dynamics. On the other hand, as evidenced by the numerous, abandoned by users of Mitsubishi Diamant reviews, the engine accelerates very slowly. All its power begins to manifest itself only after reaching the mark of the tachometer mark of 4 thousand revolutions. According to experts, this is due to the large mass of the car and far from the best gearbox settings. If we talk about driving performance, then we can confidently state the fact that the machine itself shows excellent, especially on domestic uneven roads. As practice shows, the driver does not feel small and even average irregularities.

Service

The Mitsubishi Diamond car, like other models from this manufacturer, is very expensive to maintain. The experience of many car owners proves that the problems in it can be either factory ones or arise through the driver's fault. Although it overcomes small potholes without much trouble, experimenting on pits is highly undesirable. The fact is that the pallet is installed here so that in case of an unfortunate coincidence, it can suffer very much, and its repair will result in a round sum.

Another weak point of the car experts consider the system of direct fuel injection. On the one hand, it combines a lot of positive properties, and on the other - in domestic conditions its functional does not justify the assigned hopes. In other words, because of not the highest quality of fuel in our country, this advantage turns into a problem.

conclusions

To summarize, it should be noted that the model of "Mitsubishi Diamant", of course, corresponds to its name. It can rightfully be called a true diamond of the Japanese automobile industry of the late twentieth century. The car looks adequately externally and boasts excellent technical characteristics, once again confirming its high class at the time of production. Along with this, nothing outstanding and noteworthy today the car does not stand out and a real furore in the market has not produced.
