"Hachiko": actors with a tail in the company of Richard Gere and Joann Allen

Few art films can bring to tears the representatives of the stronger sex. The exception was the work of director Hallström Lasse "Hachiko: the most loyal friend," the actors and the story of which touched all the spectators without exception.

Nine years of waiting

Like other films, the basis of "Hatiko" was the real story. In 1923, one of the professors of the University of Tokyo presented an unusual gift - a puppy of the Akita Inu breed. The new owner Hideasaburo Ueno gave his new friend the nickname Hatiko.

The kid turned out to be a devoted pet - he always followed the professor, and also saw off and met him at the station after work. Once at Хидэсабуро on lecture there was a heart attack, and doctors were, unfortunately, powerless. On that day, Hatiko did not meet his master, but remained "in office" for a long nine years. Attempts to take the dog to the new house were unsuccessful - the four-legged friend continued to come to the station until his death.

Confession

The history of Hachiko shocked the Japanese to the core. They came to the station to see with their own eyes the faithful dog. The image of this dog became in the country a symbol of fidelity and selfless love - as a sign of respect the monument of Khatiko was installed , and its effigy is kept in one of the Tokyo museums.

The history of the dog told the whole world a Japanese film, made in 1987, and in 2009 a remake of "Hachiko: the most loyal friend" was released. Actors, a dog and a piercing story about true friendship were highly appreciated by critics and spectators. With a budget of 16 million dollars, the film earned four times as much.

The most attention was drawn to the actors "with a tail" in the history of "Hatiko". The role of a faithful friend was performed by six dogs of the Akita Inu breed - three puppies and three adult dogs. Black-and-white sketches of the eyes of the pet and moments of unrestrained merriment with the host have certainly decorated the film.

The actors could hardly compete with Khachiko's charm. It's worth admitting that the worthy pair of dogs was made up only by the incomparable Richard Gere.

Professor Wilson

The future Hollywood star appeared in the usual family of an insurance agent and a housewife. After school, Gere entered the university to study direction and philosophy. Then he threw everything for the sake of the trumpeter's career, but the music environment quickly disappointed him. Finally, the young man was interested in acting.

The first success came to Richard Gere in 1975 after being approved for the title role in the play The Killer's Head. After positive reviews of critics, the novice actor became interested in the film industry. By the mid-80's, Gere was called the sex symbol of Hollywood. "On the last breath," "King David," "August Rhapsody," "Power" - the actor's name alone could guarantee the popularity of the picture. However, the most memorable for the audience was the melodrama "Pretty Woman". Roman on the set with Julia Roberts did not work, because the heart of the star was occupied by the magnificent Cindy Crawford.

Over the years, Richard Gere tried to get rid of the image of the main heartthrob and discovered all the new talents. One such work was the role of Parker Wilson - a friend who lost the most faithful in the world dog Hachiko.

Actors and roles

The partner on the set for Richard Gere was the charming Joan Allen, who played the wife of Professor Wilson.

On stage Joan Allen appeared in 1977 after joining the theatrical company Steppe Wolf, led by John Malkovich. The first Broadway play "Burn this" brought the 32-year-old actress the Tony Award.

However, a career in film began to take shape only after the role of the president's wife in the film "Nixon" (1995), which brought well-deserved fame, approval of critics and nominations for prestigious awards.

Joan Allen took part in such famous projects as "Diary of Memory", "Pleasantville", "Death Race" and, of course, "Hatiko". Actors-colleagues and viewers immediately recognized Pamela Landi, the deputy director of the CIA from the popular trilogy about Jason Bourne.

Daughter Andy Wilson

After the sudden death of the professor, the family tries to take the pet home, but he continues to wait for the meeting with the host at the station. The only correct decision takes Andy Wilson - let the dog free.

Some actors of the movie "Hatiko" were for the first time with talented animals on the set. One of them was Sarah Remer, who played the role of Andy.

She gained her independence at the age of 15 thanks to the modeling business, and her career in cinema began with the horror "Curse-2" (2006) and developed swiftly. A year later the film "Paranoia" was released on the screens, and then there appeared the main roles in the projects "Light this summer", "Psychic" and "Awakening Madison".

Worthy examples

The exploit of the dog, on the basis of which the film "Hatiko" was shot, the actors were touched. However, the story that happened in Japan in the 1920s is not the only proof of the endless devotion and love of dogs to their masters.

Skye Terrier Greyfriars Bobby spent fourteen years guarding the grave of the owner, the Siberian husky Balto prevented the epidemic of diphtheria in Alaska and delivered the serum, and the fighting dog Sergeant Stobbi was in the service in the US Army - in every country there are dozens of similar stories about the dog's special attitude to man.
