Where did this name come from? The answer is! This area refers to a natural park called "Karalarsky". In the post-war period, a military training ground and an airfield were established on the territory of the Karalarsky reserve. The armed forces of the Soviet Union were based here, conducted exercises and tests of new types of weapons. In this regard, the terrain was inaccessible to the population and was carefully guarded. Only the military high ranks - generals and marshals - could visit these picturesque bays. Therefore, these places were named - General beaches (Crimea).

How to get there

This area refers to a natural park called "Karalarsky". Of course, on public transport to get here is unrealistic, but it's quite possible for motorists.

From Kerch to the General beaches (Crimea) there are two roads: one through the villages of Oktyabrskoe and Bagerovo, through the steppe expanses, and the other through Voikovo to the village of Kurortnoe, and further along the sea. The last road is more picturesque, but at the same time mostly ground and, to put it mildly, not very good. Get at the car from Kerch for at least an hour, although the distance is small.

From Cape Kazantip road to the place of a thousand bays will take about two and a half hours. Having left for the Kerch route, it will be necessary to turn left to Novonikolaevka, then through the villages of Stancionnoye, Novootradnoye, Zolotoe and straight to the General beaches.
