GAZ 2752 - the double "Gazelle"

A couple of years after the beginning of the production of "Gazelles", a new younger brother, "Gazelle" - "Sable" (GAZ 2752), was born. It is available in two versions - passenger and cargo. Some say that this is just a small copy of GAZ 2705, others deny it all, claiming that Sobol is a completely unique and unlike Gazelle car.

So, what does GAZ 2752 have in common with Gazelle? And there is a lot in common, and it concerns technical characteristics. Firstly, it is certainly the front facing with the same mirrors, headlights, glasses and door handles. Secondly, the direct similarity is manifested in the motor (both engines ZMZ 402/406 are installed), a mechanical 5-speed gearbox and a similar clutch. And of course, the Sobol inherited from Ghazali an unpleasant rumble during the movement, and sometimes even a gnash (this is an integral part of all domestic cars).

Naturally, there are differences in these minivans. This is its own frame (not shortened "Gazellevskaya", as many believe), as well as a suspension.

The salon at GAZ 2752 is a kind of small modest cabinet. In it there is a folding table, a glove box and many other trifles. The passenger kit "Sable" is able to accommodate five people. All the seats in the minibus are lined with leatherette. But despite this, the passenger seats can not be folded, adjusted and rotated. They are simply "nailed" to the floor, and nothing can be done with them (except completely disassemble). Therefore, when leaving for nature, you need to think in advance where and how to place your luggage.

At the GAZ 2752 "Sable" a salon mirror is installed. But because of the many large head restraints on the rear seats, it's very difficult to see what happens behind the car (you need to use rear-view mirrors). You can only see how the passengers behave behind in the cabin.

It is worth noting the functionality of the exterior mirrors of the car. They help to control the driver everything that happens around. "Sable" class "luxury" is equipped with special devices that adjust the tilt of mirrors through the electric drive. Also in the "luxury" class there are electric windows.

GAZ Sobol is a very compact minibus. It is easily managed and can easily move around the narrowest roads. And thanks to the convenient steering, it became even easier to operate the car. On the motorways "Sable" confidently keeps itself on the road even at maximum speeds. And this is not all the pluses of the GAZ 2752 minivan. The technical characteristics of "Sables" far exceed the "Gazelle" indicators.

The Sobol, equipped with a 406 engine, independent suspension and power steering, became more like a minivan in its excellent handling, rather than a cargo Gazelle. Thanks to a special rear axle, the Sable is now a powerful and easy-to-operate car. Its maximum speed increased to 140 km / h. But here the carrying capacity fell to 900 kilograms.

The car became much lighter, and the engine remained the same (from the truck). This is exactly what contributed to the high speed and smooth shifting gear.
