Evolution of the Tablet. Perspectives, Technologies

The tablet is the result of the evolutionary development of computer technologies. The appearance of the tablets was a fairly predictable and logical event. Certainly, such devices are not the end point of the long path of development and the most interesting is yet to come. What exactly? To answer this question, it is first necessary to understand what exactly led to the appearance of a mobile computer of a tablet type and why the demand for it remains stable to this day. "Technology" and "relevance" have always determined the emergence and preservation of the novelty of sustainable positions in this segment. If the technologies make it possible to create a certain device, but it will not be relevant in the market, then there is no sense in creating it, by and large.

What gave an impetus to the appearance of the tablet as a mass product? First of all, a qualitative technological breakthrough in the miniaturization of semiconductor chips, displays and all related elements. At the philistine level, this manifested itself in the advertising of more and more powerful and productive processors, fast memory, and so on. And about the future demand for tablets before their massive sales, there was no doubt. The whole question rested on the cost price. And as soon as this border between the prime cost and the capabilities of the average consumer was passed, then immediately began to appear as mushrooms after the rain numerous tablets.

Before the advent of tablet devices, some of their market was occupied by PDAs - pocket personal computers. But these were not really full-fledged computers, since their filling did not allow them to squeeze out what the consumer wanted. The management of such a PDA happened with the help of a stylus, which as a pencil had to poke on the touch screen. Over time, screen resolutions, processor frequency and memory capacity grew. In some ways, the tablet can be compared with a large and sophisticated PDA, adapted to the finger control.

What do we see now? The process of increasing display resolution, performance and memory capacity continues. Tablets are getting thinner. At the same time, old models are getting cheaper. The competition of international corporations does not give rise to doubt the honesty of producers. It's no secret that there is a point of view that scientists have long been ready to introduce completely new technologies into mass production, but the collusion of corporations artificially slows down this process, since the available lines are still exhausted and the products are in demand.

It is quite possible an intermediate version of the transition to new technological lines in the form of so-called dual devices. It is both a tablet and a miniature phone that can work both in a bundle and separately. If you need a large tablet, but you do not want to carry a phone with you, and you do not want to use the headset, what should I do? The dual device visually looks like a tablet, but a satellite phone is attached to its casing. Everything looks harmonious and modern, the satellite is almost invisible, but everyone has the opportunity to separate it from the base, leaving the tablet at home. Someone will like the opportunity to manage the phone directly from the tablet-base. In any case, everyone will have the choice.

The second intermediate option is the so-called "rubber transformer". A small device in the form of a standard iPhone can, if necessary, be transformed into a tablet by means of a flexible matrix-screen, which is pulled out straight from the side of the case.

One thing is for sure that there will not be any trampling on the spot, as no company wants to disappear from the market's sky. It is understandable, with a furious competition to invest only in espionage will be a blunder.
