Evergreen perennial shrubs with a woody stem - that's what Dracena is in nature. Types of this plant are so loved not only by amateur growers, but also by professional designers, that today they are the recognized leaders in sales among all large plants grown in room conditions.

Dracaena, whose varieties differ in variety (there are about three hundred), is perfectly suitable for creating a house of bright floral compositions. In addition, this plant will be perfectly combined with such representatives of ornamental flora as aspidistra, ficus, aglaonema, sanseveri, spathiphyllum, etc.

Fragrant Drazen

It has impressive leaf sizes, the width of which can reach 10 cm. The leaves have a wavy edge, and with time they arc bent. The plant requires shady conditions and careful watering.

It looks like a false palm of dracaena only when the plant is old and already lignified. The top in this case, as a rule, cut off, and the shoot is again covered with young foliage, twisted in the form of spirals. White and yellow flowers are unusually fragrant.

Dragon Tree

Provided good lighting, the edges of the dracaena leaves acquire a red tint. On the stem are clearly distinguishable spots of blood-red color - this is tarry juice. It is at the expense of this dracaena and got its name - the dragon tree.

Unpretentious in terms of care, the look of the dracaena is borne by the shadow, and low winter temperatures, and irregular watering, and dry air. It grows up to 1 meter at home, while in nature there are specimens reaching a 20-meter height.

Enclosed dracaena

The plant has a serpentine stem, which begins to branch with age. In height, the dracaena can grow to three meters and even higher. The leaves are narrow, have a curved shape. Dracaena differs unpretentiousness in conditions of detention.

It is a strongly twitching half-shrub with very unusual leaves - small, rounded and decorated with golden specks. The plant should not only be regularly and gently watered, but also sprayed frequently, since it does not tolerate low air humidity. The dracaena stalk is weak, and in general this species is recognized as difficult in the culture of room cultivation.

Watering should be neat and regular. This species is characterized by slow growth. Only an adult plant can reach a 1.5-meter height. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, can have both completely green and striped color. The trunk to branching is not inclined. The smell of flowers is not very pleasant. Fruits are a three-part box full of seeds.
