Causes of odor from the mouth

This can spoil the opinion of any person, discomfort during communication, disrupt business negotiations and even destroy intimate relationships. A terrible smell from the mouth, like nothing else, is capable of alienating, disgusting, provoking rudeness. And even if it is not so terrible and fetid, but just barely catching, it can already cause discomfort, both among those around and the poor fellow suffering from halitosis, is the scientific name of this phenomenon. Galitosis can occur in a person episodically, and can obsessively pursue it, and the causes of odor from the mouth can also be different. But whatever the reasons and manifestations, every person desires to get rid of the fetid breath, if he, of course, has not yet given up on himself completely.

The most obvious and common causes of odor from the mouth are well known to dentists. This is a bad, irregular, inadequate and irregular hygiene of the oral cavity. In the mouth of a man "nest" hordes of bacteria - they are what distinguish gas with such a characteristic smell. Even regular brushing of teeth can not rid the person of bacteria completely if he does not use dental floss and neglects such an important component as cleaning the tongue. Bacteria - they are microscopic, they do not need much space, so they fit perfectly and in a variety between teeth and on the tongue, live there, multiply and, sorry, stink. Plus, periodontal diseases (that is, gum disease) also badly smell the mouth. What to do in such cases, it is probably obvious - to visit the dentist regularly, to treat the teeth and gums and carefully monitor the hygiene of the mouth. After all, all these chewing gum, candies and breath fresheners are just a disguise, but not a cure.

The fact that bad breath cause tobacco and alcohol - obviously, but some features of nutrition can also be a cause of halitosis. Products such as onions and garlic, cheese, eggs, smoked products, cabbage and some others can spoil your breath for up to three days! It is manifested when the product interacts with gastric and intestinal enzymes. But it is even more interesting that the lack of food can also cause a far from refined aroma, allocated in the process of using the body of accumulated fats as an energy source. It leads to halitosis and dehydration of the body.

Many causes of odor from the mouth are associated with various diseases of the body. The same process of processing of fats, causing a characteristic smell, "turns on" not only with starvation, but also with diabetes. In chronic renal failure, the acid-base balance is disturbed, which also becomes the cause of the stench. At such stages of cancer of the stomach or esophagus, when the tumor tissue begins to decompose, a pronounced putrefactive odor also appears, although in this case it is perhaps the lesser of all evils. Sometimes the stench from the mouth can even lead the doctor to the correct diagnosis - as happens, for example, with a lung abscess. Symptoms of this purulent inflammation are similar to those of angina or influenza, and a sharp and unpleasant smell can "give" an abscess. The benefit of halitosis is, of course, not called, just there is such a feature.

The list of diseases in which the smell is observed to some extent, is quite extensive: respiratory tract infections, chronic inflammatory diseases of the nasopharynx, liver failure, gastrointestinal tract diseases, renal failure. So, unless you are full of garlic or some particularly "odorous" roquefort, a bad smell can be a signal for a doctor's visit. And to start, at least according to the theory of probability, is still with the dentist.

Whatever the cause of the smell from the mouth, it is worthwhile to find them and eradicate them, without postponing them. After all, even if this "trifle" does not indicate a serious illness, it exactly destroys your diligently created image of a civilized person.
