Probably, there is no person who is interested in Russian literature, which would not be surprised at the originality and depth of the novel "Master and Margarita". Indeed, in this work, the story of the suffering of Yeshua Ha-Nozri and the emotional throwings of Pontius Pilate adjoins comic scenes, and the devil appears in the image of a neat foreigner Woland, who arranges, as they say today, a show revealing human vices. Therefore it is not surprising that at any time Bulgakov's house in Moscow is full of tourists who want to learn more about the man whose pen plays and novels make both laugh and think about the eternal questions of life.

Bulgakov Mikhail Afanasievich: biography (before coming to Moscow)

The future writer was born in 1891 in Kiev. After graduating from high school, he entered the university (in Kiev) and studied at his medical school for seven years. At the end of the university, Mikhail Bulgakov was asked to go to the front, but after receiving a refusal due to health problems, he worked for several months as a doctor in the frontline zone. After living a year in Moscow in the house of his uncle, a doctor, in 1918 he returned to Kiev and began private practice as a venereologist. A few months later, Mikhail Bulgakov was mobilized in the army of the Ukrainian People's Republic, and then in the Armed Forces of the South of Russia. As part of the Third Terek Regiment, the writer fought in the Northern Caucasus against the Red Army and published several articles and stories in local "white newspapers". Typhoid fever, Bulgakov MA could not leave the country together with the majority of his colleagues, and was forced to stay until he recovered in Vladikavkaz. In the same place he wrote his first dramatic works.

Life in the capital

At the end of 1921, Bulgakov and his wife came to Moscow and began to actively publish their essays and satirical articles in the capital's newspapers. Two years later the writer was admitted to the All-Russian Writers' Union, and in 1926 the "Days of Turbins" was staged at the Moscow Art Theater, a play that Joseph Stalin liked very much. Despite this, Bulgakov was constantly being targeted by criticism from well-known literary officials. As a result, by 1930, the writer fell into disgrace, and his plays ceased to be staged in theaters of the country, and the works were not printed. Then Bulgakov wrote a letter to the government of the USSR with a request either to allow him to work, or to allow him to emigrate abroad. As a result, the playwright himself called Joseph Stalin and advised to try to get a job at the Moscow Art Theater. Of course, the writer managed to do this without difficulty, and he even tried himself as an actor. In 1939, after the "Leader of the Nations" banned the production of a dramatist play called "Batum", the health of the latter began to deteriorate sharply. Among other things, he was almost blind and the last version of "Master and Margarita" was forced to dictate to his wife. Bulgakov Mikhail Afanasievich, whose biography is full of tragedy, died on March 10, 1940 and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery.
