The cost of a balloon with a basket produced in the Czech Republic starts from 30 thousand dollars, England - from 40 thousand euros.

Used aerostats can be purchased from 400-500 thousand rubles for a full set. In addition to the cost of the device itself, the owner of the balloon will have to spend on:

• gas consumption;
• Registration and certification in Rosaviatsia;
• Annual renewal of a certificate of airworthiness;
• Reward for the pilot (possibly for his training);
• Reward for the ground crew, etc.

Balloon with a basket of your own: a dome

If you decide to design your own balloon, then first of all you should do the dome. For it you need to buy a strong nylon - polyester or polyamide. It is important that the material does not pass air - cover the fabric on the back with liquid polyurethane or silicone.

The next stage nylon is cut into segments of the right size, which are sewn with particularly strong threads. The hole for inflating the balloon with a basket with its own hands is covered with a protective layer of material resistant to high temperatures.

To make the dome stronger, it is additionally sheathed vertically and horizontally with fabric ribbons. Fasten them to the very top of the dome, and the lower edges of the bands are attached to the ropes of the basket-suspension.

How to make a balloon: basket

Traditionally, the walls of the basket are woven from the vine, and the bottom is made of so-called marine plywood, which is resistant to temperature changes and other extreme moments. The frame is made of stainless steel cables. The basket is attached to the dome. On the cables are put on special leather covers, protecting them from damage.

It is also necessary to design special suspensions, where luggage and accessories for aeronautics will be stored.

Important element: burner

Before making a balloon, you need to carefully consider the design of the burner. Currently, liquefied propane serves as fuel for it. The average power of the device is 4.5-6.0 thousand megawatts. You should buy special burners for balloons, which are made of strong stainless steel by a special technology that allows the device to withstand large temperature changes.

Own balloon: instruction

Of course, it's difficult to make a passenger balloon at home, but it's quite possible to make a test paper balloon with a basket by oneself. You will need:

• Thick paper;
• Thin paper (so-called cigarette paper);
• glue;
• Thread;
• twine;
• scissors;
• pencil;
• Long ruler;
• triangle.

Now for work:

1. The diameter and the diameter of your ball will depend on the number and size of the strips to be cut. If it is equal to 1.5 m, you will need 12 lanes, 2 m - 16, 2.5 m - 20, 3 m - 24.
2. To draw an even pattern, first draw a vertical line on the paper, equal to the length of the future strip. Through it draw at some distance perpendicular segments, equal to the limits of the width of the segment. The end points of the segments are connected by a smooth line, which will be the contour of the strip.
3. On a cardboard pattern, circle and cut out the contours of the segments on the tissue paper. It is most convenient to lay several layers on each other, forming a bundle, and cut several segments at once.
4. Segments are first glued together by "boats". Then these "boats" need to be glued to each other. Before you seal the last seam, turn the structure out so that it has the shape of a ball.
5. The base of the ball is fastened with pasted strips of paper with string - this design will hold the ball when heated.
6. Top the dome with a circle of the same tissue paper.
7. After the glue dries, straighten the dome, holding it over the blowtorch.
8. To the design on the same string, you can attach a basket for a special load.

To start the ball, turn on the burner or light a fire, hold your ball over the heat source, without letting the string out of your hands. As soon as the air inside your homemade aeronautics is heated, it can be released into flight.

Thus, a balloon with a basket can be made at home. But here the passenger aerostats can only be bought or rented.
